Most QLDers have booked flights, there may be one or two that haven't. And most are doing the 4 day adventure, which I heavily advise if you want to play the magical Melbourne sandbelt.

Deathstar really don't offer any flights to Goldy after 3:30PM on a Monday? That's serious poo.

By my calculations you would want to be allowing yourself an hour and 15 to get to Tulla from Spring Valley. It probably won't take that long but just in case, you know. So if you want to be there an hour before your flight (2:30) you'd have to leave Spring Valley at 1:15ish. That would mean you'd have to have a 5:15 hour + round at SV, which won't happen as there won't be too many (if any) out ahead of us. Doesn't leave much time for a beer of two after the round but if that's the way it has to be then that's it I guess. At this point we only have 4 groups for Monday anyway, and I wouldn't expect more than 5 even with late entrants, so last group would theoretically be 8:40 hit off. Still be done by 12:45ish.

You're call but if I need to put you guys out in the first 2 or 3 groups I can, and we should have about half an hour together as a group before you'd have to depart.

I'll try for a similar format for Southern on the Friday of Mexicans (Vics and Tassie) Vs the rest of the world. Need a few more Mexicans though at this stage as the interstaters are kicking our behinds for numbers. I'll look at numbers as we go and the Mexicans may include WAnkers to even up numbers or something along those lines.

Saturday and Sunday will be the traditional 2 stableford rounds for the champs, and Monday may be just a normal round with surprise 4Ball drawn partners at the end of the round or something along those lines. I'll let people know a little closer to the date.

I don't want to mess too much with Mondays round as Spring Valley is such a great course that it should be played individually. There should still be plenty of time for everyone to get to the airport.

In regards to the Thursday game, and judging by the green fees quoted in this thread, would you like to play a semi-private course or an easier public track for less?

There's not much golf course wise BETWEEN the airport and the hotel.

Northern is pretty close to the airport but in the opposite direction, Eastern isn't too far away, and LaTrobe and Kew are next to each other. Most of the other courses are down on the sandbelt, quite a bit past the hotel.

The old fart in the pro shop was a tool, wouldn't let me have a cart for 18 holes despite being there at 2:30. Asked why, response was that I might be a slow hacker. Showed him my golflink on my phone. He said that doesn't matter. So I walked 18, got in at 4:30, and asked him why I couldn't have the cart again? He replied again that I might be a slow hacker. Flicked my card of 74 on the desk and said thanks for having me, and walked out the door.

I can understand why he'd be apprehensive but what more proof do I need? He was leaving at 5:30 so I had three hours to play 18 in a cart. Even a 32 handicapper could do that no problems on that course.

Northern is pretty close to the airport but in the opposite direction, Eastern isn't too far away, and LaTrobe and Kew are next to each other. Most of the other courses are down on the sandbelt, quite a bit past the hotel.

Northern is close to the airport, a really good course, and not far off the track to the hotel. It's not actually in the opposite direction as I first reported, that's Keilor Park. It's around $60 to play from memory.

You also have Northcote Public, about half way, which looks like a 9 holer, I know very little about it. Green fees are $18, which probably tells you more than enough about the place.

North East of the hotel by about 20 minutes (you'll be coming at the hotel from the North West) are Yarra Bend (a decentish $30 public track), Kew (very nice course but you may struggle to get on, probably around $80) and La Trobe (nearly as good as Kew IMO and may be easier to get on) all very close to each other.

I've played Victoria twice and Yarra Yarra 3 times.

Loved every second of it (except for Victoria the first time around when we got 25mm dumped on us over the entire five hours we were out there). The beauty of playing on the sandbelt is games don't get called off because the water gets drained away instantly.

These four courses will be my main aim, but a fall back course similar to Kingswood or Commonwealth (still VERY nice courses) may have to come into play. I'll make some enquiries shortly, but they may be only able to slot a few of us on (ie. 1 or 2 groups) so first in best dressed.

Not quite the result we were hoping for LG as we're already booked in to play Southern GC on Friday. Not sure the masses that are travelling would want to pay the $160 green fee though, so unfortunately Yarra Yarra is no go.
