Unfortunately I'm only watching a little desktop scoreboard, but I notice that Hayden just got a century and Gilly is travelling along nicely too.

Is Hayden back?
Perhaps getting the boot from the one-day side has done him some good.

Why, he didn't ground his bat behind the line, that fact that he ran into the bowler is his own stupid fault..................

the bowler did nothin wrong, katich ballsed it up and got what he deserved a DUCK. :smt046

Had a real tough day at work today watching it all :) Gilly is going to go off in the mornig and set up a good 1st innings score.
What a 1st over from Harmisson? Langer didn't have a chance.
Lets see what Lara & the boys do in reply.

Can't believe Watson got out off a no ball too.

Was in the pub watching the end of the days play and was disappointed that I didn't get to see Gilly bring up his 100.

It's a pretty solid start to the match anyway.

Gee that was a full on first session on the second day!

Aussies all out for not much more, and the World getting worked over too.

nice bit of work from smith. let gilchrist get the cheap runs and then played the bad lights card (by bringing on the new ball) and letting him sleep on the nervous 90's

then again, Gilchrist was one of Flintoffs bunnies in england, yet he only got to bowl 10 balls at him in this innings. You would think that SMith would have known this

World XI look stuffed now. 7 down and Warney is going great guns (although one dodgy decision).

I'm pretty jealous of my father-in-law who is down there watching it at the moment.

Spinners are in the game now. any lead over 100 almost seals it. Will have to look out for the Sri Lankan ex-chucker.

Well in front now!!! Langer is trying to make up for the 0 in the 1st innings.

Gorilla bowled some of his trademark balls..

..and they finished up where they belonged. Over the fence.

In 3oneday's poll I selected 5 days for the supertest. I'm thinking that 4 is much more likely now.

turning out to be a non-event so far

Lara has been a huuuuuge disappointment as far as i'm concerned.

Might get some play in this afternoon Pete. The weather is patchy for the whole week with rain/showers expected every day except Tuesday.

Given that the World XI have failed to bat out 50 overs in 4 attempts so far and have only passed 200 once, I don't think the Aussies are gunna need much more than a session and a half to wrapt this up.

Jarro
17th October 2005, 01:35 PM
what a fizzer :x

Aussies up by 250 odd runs, what a flogging.

wonder if this Super-series will be on the agenda again next year

Bruce

Hopefully that will be the end of that. Both the idea of the Super Series and the referring of decisions upstairs.

World XI did finally last 50 overs. Just. The Bangers were more competition than this pack of soft-cocks.

They could have made it 7 days and had 2 tests!!

Got to say, Australia were pretty deadly with the ball, and didn't drop the customary 8 catches.

I'm backing a whitewash series this summer without a doubt. And what more does MacGill have to do to stay in the team? Perhaps the Gabba isn't a spinners pitch, but it's Warney's best statistically.

Jarro
17th October 2005, 05:30 PM
MacGill will be in the Sydney test for sure ... the rest of them, i wouldn't have a clue :?

He did bowl well .... at the tailenders

Who Cares...anyone who takes 9 for 80 odd deserves to be in the team...no matter where in the order they bat

terryand
17th October 2005, 07:07 PM
If I remember correctly,it was the fact that we couldn't get the tail out a couple of times that more than likely cost us the Ashes :?

So if hes in the team and does that job and saves the team 100 odd runs.he has to be there

Terry.

McMw

good experiment by the aussies to go 6/5 in the team...

should be good enough to stick with this combo for the summer series...

can't see an aussie batting choke on aussie pitches...

BrisWesty
18th October 2005, 05:19 AM
If 9/47 doesn't count as a batting choke I'm not sure what does!

I don't think WI has two world class spinners in their line-up this summer...
or a flintoff...
