Continued my gluttonous golfing adventure with a trip down to Warrnambool.

Knocked it around Port Fairy yesterday afternoon and was super impressed with my first look. The skies threatened but nothing came of it and we had a lovely wander around. 23 holes in 4 hours as a 3-ball is totally possible you know.

Sunny skies this morning for Warrnambool and Bruce beats Jack 4/3.

3 days of perfect spring golfing weather in great company at some great courses. A very welcome homecoming.

Nice job beating the golden boy Bruce ;)

37 points for me today at Nudgee (19/18)

Hit the driver well for the most part, and the ironplay is getting better.

Still, i'm struggling with the bunkerplay ..... have no bloody idea  I guess i'll have to try to stay out of them then.

Putter was pretty good, saving me a few times for some par saves.

After 24 points last Wed. and within .4 of the anchor rule kicking in, the spotted dog is back.

40 points (off 10), with 2 birdies, 8 pars and 8 bogeys.

Marto's fatboy challenge has avoided the sugar/fat peaks and troughs. And Virge's idea (from an advice to high handicapper's thread) of building swing up from a wedge swing is paying dividends. (Off to Narrabeen tomorrow night, to see if I've interpreted it right.)

Nice work Dotty. Enough to take home any chocolates?

I snuck out for a round in the Wednesday comp this morning. Had a respectable 37 points which was only just out of the money (came 4th in A Grade), at least I get a ball. Unfortunately I had some shockers through 7-10, it could've easily been much better.

My driver is red hot, my miss lately has been a block, due to not getting through the shot properly, so I've started turning my left toe out a little bit towards the target and I nailed them all today. Only hit one little block all day (on 7) and it wouldn't have been bad enough to get me into trouble about 8 days out of 10, unfortunately today the tees were further forward then I've ever seen them and the wind was blowing behind, so it put me in the trees. I still managed to punch out to just short of the green so it didn't cost me much - the duffed chip, then the weak as piss putt from the fringe, then the missed 10 footer for bogey were what cost me!!

Anyway bottom line, my chipping is shithouse (I even duffed one on 8 and hit it again on the follow through) and I can't even hit the green from inside 100 metres at the moment so thank goodness the putter got me out of trouble a few times. By the end I was putting it from 4-5 metres off the green or more as I just have no confidence, on 18 I putted it from the first cut of rough behind the green... knocked it to just inside 3 feet and holed out for par though :)

Stats here (http://golfshot.com/rounds/detail/262-13337551-13337825) for anyone who's interested. 29 putts (with a couple of 3 putts, and a couple of short ones missed as well) tells the story.

Nice work Dotty. Enough to take home any chocolates?

Thanks BenM, and just enough to take the cash.

4 way tie for Division 1 (hc<20), beating one on last 9, one on last 6 and one on last 3 countbacks.

There were 3 people with handicaps over 20 above me, but that is why the club divided Wed. 2BBB comp. into two divisions for the individual prize, after the new handicap system came in.

Played two days at Redland bay... To be honest, I have not hit it better for two consecutive days.

Thursday
78/35 points.
15 gir
37 putts
2 birdies

Friday
72/41 points
9 gir
27 putts
3 birdies

Played the back nine -3 across both days, and really could have been a little better. Thanks to PeteyD for the stern words on Thursday, ( you can putt, you just think about it too much!) SO TRUE!!!!!

Had a putt on the last today for red numbers... Would have loved to of made it, but not to be. New anchor of 4.1;)

Golf is my friend again today.

I had my first hit back at Comm yesterday in 6 months and managed 38 points - hitting it good, and holing a few putts. 5 birdies helps the score.

Played royal pines in the shoot out today. 78 for 40 points. Throw in four three putts in the last nine holes a wipe and two one pointers it could have been anything. Turned even par and 23 points.
Good to hit driver so well today. Also really liking the new shafts in my irons. Yummy.

38 points today in single stableford... just out of the money (4th in A grade) but won a NTP.

It was such a scrappy round though! Missed 2 putts inside 2 feet (for bogey on 1 and for par on 17), missed a couple of birdie chances from 6 feet on 13 and 18, duffed a chip on 1, left a bunker shot still in the bunker on 9.... oh and my favourite of all was cold topping my 3 wood not once, not twice, but FIVE times. That's how good I hit it, it was just embarassing....

On the upside, the new Fast 12 worked well, apart from a bad effort on the first, every single drive was in play. Today's effort has cut me back another shot, I've gone from 13 to 11 in the space of a couple of weeks.

Had my first game back after 4 weeks off. Didn't practice or play in the time I was off to see how things would go when I came back, as practicing before the break wasn't helping. Shot 23 pts today round the vines and hit it all over the place...

Finding golf very frustrating lately. I think it's time to stop playing comp rounds for a bit and re-ignite the passion.

2 Over 68 in a 4BBB Stroke. I was on the card 16 times. Hit the ball brilliantly, but my short game was lacking. I had 9 birdie putts, 8 within 10ft, and only managed to sink the 35 footer.... Absolutely loving the VR Tour/'Ilima 73x combo though, Nothing like nailing 300m long, massively high drives. Into the wind. Measured one down wind at 355. Was horrible to 3 putt the eagle chance for a par....

35 points around Nudgee South today .... (18/17)

Greens were shite as they were furry and bouncy ..... very ordinary.

Anyway, wiped the 17th after a massive hook off the tee .... but bounced back with a nice par on 18 after hitting a nice shot into the teeth of a fairly stout breeze.

Driver is getting a little iffy .... might be time to head out to the range to work some things out ;)

93/79 in stroke today. 44f/49b.

Hit 10 FW's (6/7 on the front) but was not hitting greens. Also did not chip/putt very well so could have done a lot better.

10/14FW, 3GIR, 34 putts, 1 x 3 putt.

Played SCR Cup on Sat and had 90 off the stick. Hit some really good shots but my putting was shocking. Loved the course though and definitely be back. Got right on the beers afterwards.

Played on Sunday at Cabra had 33points. Again hit the ball well in but missed some 3-4 footers. Got pretty tired at the end of the round from all the drinking the night before. Golfwhang came for a hit as well and he had 35 points on his first outing a cabra which is a good effort.

Hopefully can fit 2 games in on the long weekend.

Played St.Andrews Beach on sat. 72 with a double on the 18th and 5 missed birdies under 6 feet on 1, 4, 7, 10, 15.

If I dont have to putt I would be a happy man!

I had 36 points @ Devilbend on Saturday. 35 putts with a 4 putt double bogey on the 2nd, Grrrrrrr. It's a tiered green and I just didn't HIT it! Had a heap of putts go very close, lip out etc. 17% GIR which is terrible, absolutely terrible but I guess I scrambled OK.
