DC68 has inspired me to lose some weight.... again.

So ... weigh in tonight ... final weigh in 24th October.... thats about 6 weeks ... thats about as much as I can handle...

C'mon ... who is in? $10 in .... Percentage weight loss wins the pool.

What if it's your heavy day today? Plus it's more consistent to weigh yourself in the morning after the business is done.

Good luck.

I'm sure you would tear strips off the person, if they were found to be cheating. You'd want to do it after the end of the competition though, depending on the weight of those strips.

Now got the digital scales, and starting weight is 98.8kg and 34% bodyfat. (Yes, I realise that bodyfat measurement through electrical resistance is not as accurate as skinfold. It's relative and measurement will be only after first bathroom visit of a morning.)

But it has to be better than yesterday's garage scales, that have only weighed cement, bricks and luggage in the past 20 years.

Well from 122 I'm hoping to get down to 105 which is what I was when I was working and playing sport every time I could.

Not a great start dinner out as a celebration of my wife's new job last night.
Tonight a farewell for someone from her old job.
Booze and a huge serve of ribs last night.
Booze out and bacon and eggs when I got home.

In my defence I'll burn a fair bit off tomorrow as I'm helping a mate move.
Not looking forward to the piano.

Would have loved to join in but I started my own program 10 weeks ago. 175cm and 90kgs

My incentive was not to shave until I reached 3 goals. 80kgs - back to scatch - shoot lower than 68 or 4 under.

I have never gone past 5 days without shaving in my life, so it has been hard.

currently sitting at 83kg - 2.6 - 73 since I have started.

I think I am going to end up with a chopper reid mo. Weight is sideburns, low round is chin and back to scratch is the mo.

Keep fighting the good fight guys.

hmmm, the timing for this is bad. About to set off on a three week driving holiday, ie. sitting on my arse mostly. Hopefully we'll get some bush walking done and avoid the greasy truck stop foods.

I lost a fair bit last year 118 down to 105kgs roughly, but have not gone any lower. Whilst I'm happy to be 10+ kgs lower than I was, I'd like to drop another 10kgs. At low-mid 90's I was pretty comfortable with my weight and looked pretty trim.

I'm not riding enough and I'm still eating too much. My wife and I have both been taking turns to exercise early mornings, but haven't really made it a rock solid habit.

AndyP is my inspiration.

i'd join in but I'm trying to put on a little weight. 90% of weight loss is diet, and I don't necessarily mean going on a diet, it's about the food you eat and how much you eat. Throw in a little bit of moderate exercise and the weight will slowly but surely come off.

Reduce the crap food you eat. Replace it with salads or fruit. Chuck In plenty of water as well mate. It's a long journey but worthwhile!

Drinking water will help you feel full during the day. Throw it down on top of some Raw Nibble Mix from Woolies (not the whole packet, just a small handful) and you will find how it helps you get through.

As was mentioned earlier...careful of the carbs. Those bastards will kill any sort of weight loss. All in moderation.

Almost exactly why I decided not to enter...I knew my past weekend would be a write off. :?

Sat : Brother's wedding...would need both hands and at least 1 foot to count what I drank at the reception, whether it be beer, wine, bourbon and coke and a nip of JW Blue Label that my SIL's dad brought along.
Sun: continental brekkie in morning, BBQ lunch, buffet dinner for my grandmother's birthday, and half a dozen coffees to counteract the hangover and just keep me awake.

It has often been said that Australians love a punt and will bet on just about anything. Well here you go OZgolfers. Here is the current market for the Big Boy Challenge.

3/1 – dc68 - 119.3kg. The perennial favourite who’s brought on this event. Will be very difficult to defeat.
5/1 - Dotty - 98.8kg. Off to a good start and his percentage is helped by being under 100kg to start with.
5/1 - Marto - 110.6kg. Fiercely competitive. Rumoured to be now preferring to walk rather than take a courtesy bus.
8/1 - Vegas - 109.6kg. Going bush for a fortnight and will be living on twigs and berries.
8/1 - Kev - 109.4kg. Has the advantage of being a Victorian who needs to exercise to keep warm.
8/1 - mrbluu 168cm 85.5g. Anyone with “Mr” in their title commands respect.
10/1 - Moe - 106.1kg. Like Marto, very competitive. His ailing body might fall apart on him though.
10/1 - Lagerlover - 129kg. The last of the super heavyweights. Has been asking Butterbean for training advice.
12/1 - SMS - 125.4kg. Now on health kick #462. Questions over his commitment.
12/1 - Eag's – 103kg. Aerodynamic hairstyle will aid running and swimming.
15/1 - Xray - 180cm - 115kg. If he brings back the diet from the Pelican Waters champs of 2009 he will be a big chance.
15/1 - Titty - 92kg. Questions over whether he can stay off this piss.
15/1 - Steve57 - 103kg. Dark horse. In fact I have no idea who the hell he is.
15/1 - Mudrat- 94.5kg. Mudder. Mudder was a mudder. Loves the slop.
20/1 - Ronny – 95kg. Rockin’ Ronny may surprise a few here.
20/1 - LeftyHoges - 95kg. Looks like Ronald McDonald. Not a good sign.
20/1 - Daves - 119.4kg. Wiley old codger who may surprise, but the percentage game will harm him.
20/1 - Haystacks - 104.5kg. Owns some spectacular running shorts.
25/1 - TourFit - 89.6kg. Probably on the Tony Ferguson diet yet again.
25/1 - borby - 122Kg. Challenged by the percentage game.
33/1 - IDGolfguy - 90.5kg. Dwarf. Has to take twice as many steps as a normal person so gets extra calorie burn.
33/1 - Golfnut - 168cm - 82kg. Under the thumb. Will have no chance if his wife doesn’t cook healthy food for him.
33/1 - Brokar - 116.4kg. Like Titty, may not be able to stay sober.
100/1 – Chinsy Simmsy - ???kg.Should be in this comp. Joined the gym but has never set foot in it.

Happy punting,
Tom Porterhouse Waterhouse.

I'm looking for a good number this week ....

Spent all Sunday in the garden (two trips to the tip) ... had a nice roast meal last night with a couple of beers so I'm expecting to see the benefit of Sunday on the scales tomorrow morning.

Time to wind him in from starting price of 3-1 to about 1.85 I would think.

I'll jump on at 3's while its still going.

Can I get a market on him being back at 120kg by Christmas?

Beer and pizza tonight. I've been gagging for this for the last 3 days or so.

I haven't touched alcohol since this comp started and tonight is the night to cut loose with 2 Pure Blondes. Going to have half of a Louisiana Chicken pizza from Capers with supposedly 97% fat free (and is awesome anyway).

According to My Fitness Pal I will still come in at nett 364 calories (1786 under par). 4 hours of walking has its benefits.

Keep at it mate. Not just for the short term. Do it for good. You can balance the beers and all that stuff.

As for pizza, look at getting yourself a pizza oven like the Breville Pete Evans one, grab some lite Mission Wraps and low fat mozzarella and crank out some of your own low fatty pizzas.

You'll need a new banger soon!

After saying that this week was the serious one I've just demolished a steak bacon & cheese pie, a chocolate eclair, a slice of hedgehog and a flavoured milk. Probably an easy 6000 kj's there. Now to sit at my desk for the next 4 hours. :-(
