Birdie comp is $10 and the last person to score a birdie or better in the group takes the $40 pot. No birdies, then the $40 goes to the Leon fundraiser drive for next year. Before commencing the round each player is to give their $10 to the lowest marker in the group who will hold the pot until the end. Shavey still owes me a$10 from the Tweed Masters so this is why we do it this way. The winner has no obligation to buy the 3 losers a drink and should instead talk their ears off about how good his birdie was and tell them what he will do with their money.

Why do we keep doing this to ourselves?? seriously!!. It is a bloody dust bowl out there at the moment. The housing estate at the back doesn't help things. Nor did a pair of ground staff racing around in their carts dragging wire and chain through the rough, Idjuts. The Blustery Westerly just topped everything off.

Total Hackerthon in our group, even the Non Ozgolfer joined in! I don't think I have hit so many fairways and walk off with bogey or worst in my life. I think we all managed a 4 putt at some stage.

Lots of work going on, but I wouldn't say it looks good. A long way to go yet. The green are pretty average, slow, grainy, and with weed grass in them. The bunkers were all different, some were clay pans, others, they had tipped Bondi Beach into them, and a few were wet and soggy. Lots of bunkers getting reno'd on the 1st and a couple of other holes from memory.
