Even if it was at a decent resolution, would it be worthwhile ?
Yes.  Jarro could then measure the carry of his skyball drive that plugged on the 18th, when he played there.

Nambour Golf Club Rules of Association, Rule 5

(h) Country Members - Permanent residence must be outside a radius of 100km from the location of the Associations Clubhouse.

Just to check that I do actually qualify for a country membership at Nambour GC, I just measured the distance as the crow flies, using Google Earth.
I think the assumption was that if I was south of the Brisbane River it was far enough.

Distance = 103.84km

That's close. If the club does move to the south of Nambour as proposed, then I will definitely fall inside the distance, not that they are too likely to check.

I was just looking at a couple of holes on Northlakes the other day. Amazing resolution, and it gives you a great look at what the best position to a approach a green from should be. Of course, you can't see the prick slopes on the fairways though.

Haha I have had the same problem a few times now, Katherine being one of them.
Must be an old photo, my house is to the right of the course and our road was re-sealed about 12 months ago... Still has the old brown stone look in the photo.

Few works happening at Bowen at present, finally fixing a few bunkers and adding a few more. Greens are in top condition at the moment.

Haven't heard too much about it. Only thing I've heard is they are trying to get a new international airport built nearby. :smt108 That many stories about, hard to know who to believe.

Construction has just begun on an Adam Scott designed 18 hole course on the outskirts of Bowen. (www.whitsundayshores.com.au (http://www.whitsundayshores.com.au))
Stage 1 completed, stage 2 underway.

That'll probably be finished well before the 2nd course at Laguna. (2010 for the Scott Course)

The international airport for Laguna has supposedly been going on for years, the last I heard from a mate who lives up that way was the owner had started to build it before getting council approval, that was at least 5 years ago...

The Bowen development will be interesting, I would not have thought they would get the tourist numbers needed for it to be a great success.

Building the course just next to the Bruce Highway should help with the numbers.

They're now pushing for the Airport (Unsure if they're going for international or not) to be located between Bowen/Proserpine.

The current airport in Proserpine (10klm out) is located on a large Oil-Shale deposit, so it won't be long until they're tearing it up.
Interesting times, that's for sure.

I was just looking at Paradise Palms on Google Earth and came across a cool little feature that I thought was worth sharing.

The course had all these blue dots over it, and when you hold the pointer over one, it gives you the details of the hole (see attachment 2).
Then when you click on it, it brings up a pretty little picture of the hole (attachment 1).

This wasn't on every hole and there were two photos on some, but I wonder if this is on a lot of courses, and who is providing the photos.
