Dogs could be allowed unrestricted access into all al fresco cafes and restaurants under a proposal by Australia's food standards' watchdog.

What's your view?

I'm not a great fan of Fido farting in the direction of my favourite java.

Hopefully, some patrons would be able to control their dogs better than their kids.

Will the dogs eat of the restaurant plates?

I think only registered dogs should be allowed and the rego number should be recorded by the cafe staff. Then if the pooch mauls your toddler you have the owners details.

Dogs are fine. Inconsiderate pet owners are not, which is why this is a terrible idea.

Yeah, just like kids are fine and inconsiderate parents are not!

I was amazed coming back from Germany recently dogs in restaurants was a pretty std occurrence. Even one of the elite restaurants we went to someone had a great Dane sitting next to the table ....

It's moult, unless you are American. Correct. It would then be spelled shed.

Those dog owners would be very popular at restaurants in China.

I took my dog to a coffee shop the other day ...

He doesn't moult, or shed ... he's part Poodle - which is a bit ghey ... and part Cavaleir King Charles Spaniel - which is a bit ghey too .. so why is my dog so cool?

So he loves Cafe's.

He sat under our table, didnt bark or whine, and didnt chew anyone's hands that wanted to pat him. Even the two year old who wanted to pull his ears.

Anyway ... I have to go and feed him his Strawberry Daquiri.

With a little umbrella in it.

And a giraffe swizzle stick.

I've got a feeling Solarman would be happy to take his pooch to the local cafe. He's apparently quite happy to feed it prawn and avacado sandwiches.

For what reason would anyone want to change the *status quo, is some tree hugger concerned about dogs feelings?

*Not that I ever knew they were banned, It just seems dumb to me to take a pet out on a date.

I bet Joel Monaghan wished he'd thought of that.

I wonder how he's going with the ladies now. Surely it'd have to be a strong/slightly disturbed woman to go near him. Imagine the whispers if the three of them turned up at a cafe with a golden retriever.
