View Full Version : Qld: NQ Matchplay: Haysey vs. Dcanto - CGC 4/07/2012

Dcanto

Pending Haysey's rehersal schedule for his latest musical exploits, and assuming Broadway doesn't come knocking on his door beforehand.

Will FNQ's answer to Hugh Jackman prevail, or will the mild-mannered CPA manage to come up with the right numbers on the day? Stay tuned folks.

I plan to go all wolverine on you, bean counter.

Even money bet for 2 blokes both playing with too many shots up their sleeves. I'm thanking my lucky stars I'm on the other side of the draw.

Just so long as you don't start singing show tunes from 'The Boy from Oz' or 'Oklahom(o)a'.

I'm planning to wear my Robin Hood - Men in Tights costume.

If that doesn't put you off your game. Nothing will.

You never know with these accountant types... they seem all mild-mannered, but they're mostly deviates. ;)

Whoops, forgot all about this and the timesheets full.

Davo, what do you want to do? Fireball matchplay? Or leave it for another day?

Courty
4th June 2012, 10:34 AM
Try for Monday? Might be able to do a double date with me vs. Mike?

Monday is doubtful for me due to family commitments but If things change I will let you know.

We'll take a look closer to Saturday and if there aren't any spots available we will defer it to early July.

Are you thinking Atherton on monday morning? (Not you, Dave.)

Courty
4th June 2012, 12:27 PM
Possibly. I guess it just depends on Mike.

haysey
4th June 2012, 01:10 PM
Fair enough. If you get something going I'll probably come up for a drive.

Courty
4th June 2012, 03:09 PM
Hell, we can go up there anyway, even if Mike can't play.

mike
4th June 2012, 07:26 PM
Atherton on Monday morning will work for me.

Don't expect a contest Courty. Have a look at the last time I played.

Dcanto

Yep, we will defer it till the 4th. I will update the thread when I am in front of a computer.

I just checked their golflinks. Haysey out to 10. um, ok.

And first time I played with Dave he was off 6ish and from memory I think he might have even missed a fairway that day.

Time for a witch hunt.

Dcanto
7th June 2012, 06:31 PM
6ish my arse, and given I am lucky to play once a month it's a wonder my handicap isn't higher. That said I am trying my best to get my handicap down in the limited opportunities I get to play.

mike
7th June 2012, 06:46 PM
Good to hear.

7ish then.

Just to be absolutely clear, I was being sarcastic.

Negatory, that was the ability that was removed when I became a bean-counter.

You must not have heard the old joke 'What's the definition of an accountant?'
Answer: Someone lacking enough charm and wit to be a funeral director (apologies to any funeral directors / undertakers).

;)

haysey

This thread needs some niggle....

Hey Dave,

What’s the definition of an accountant?
Someone who solves a problem you didn’t know you had in a way you don’t
understand.

When does a person decide to become an accountant?
When he realises he doesn’t have the charisma to succeed as an
undertaker.

What does an accountant use for birth control?
His personality.

What’s an auditor?
Someone who arrives after the battle and bayonets all the wounded.

Why did the auditor cross the road?
Because he looked in the file and that’s what they did last year.

How do you drive an accountant completely insane?
Tie him to a chair, stand in front of him and fold up a roadmap the
wrong way.

What’s the most wicked thing a group of young accountants can do?
Go into town and gang-audit someone.

I can't believe you play off 12 you figure fudging, slowly balding, to much pasta eating graduate of Saints. Give yourself an uppercut.

An 'A' for effort but an 'F' for originality haysey. Heard 'em all before, and while some of them may be true, I am immune to such taunts.

I need to look up some glazier jokes but I suspect I may struggle. I can't imagine anyone would actually choose to become a glazier. ;)

haysey
30th June 2012, 04:27 PM
*Sigh*

No one makes jokes about glaziers because we'll stab you in the eye with a chunk of 6mm if you try to take the piss.

I need to look up some glazier jokes but I suspect I may struggle. I can't imagine anyone would actually choose to become a glazier. ;)Here's one.

Haysey was examining a broken window. He studied it for a while before saying, "It's worse than I thought, it's broken on both sides".

(this sadly is the only glazier joke in existence)

Wait, here's another one.

Q. What does a glazier do between Monday morning and Friday arv?

A. Plays golf.

Tomson
30th June 2012, 05:06 PM
You forgot to put that in blue mike ;)

mike
30th June 2012, 05:08 PM

Well played, Dave. Was a really good match, you were just to consistent for me in the end.

Dcanto
4th July 2012, 07:40 PM
Thanks haysey, it was a great match. We both had patches of being consistently inconsistent with a few lucky bounces going my way. The fact that it was a slow round (nearly 5 hours), through no fault of our own, didn't help.Sorry to see that you have come down with a case of solarmanitis when it comes to the 8th hole. I hope it's not contagious. ;)

Only because it's nigh impossible for you to dodge Mrs Haysey's vision of you on the 1st tee now that the trees have been removed!!!
