Struck some form recently with some wins and into the matchplay final this weekend. "What's his secret?", I'm sure you are all asking yourselves.

I recently added 2 new items to 'the bag'.

1. U-Tri Tour balls. I've been working my way through the mid tier balls and had developed a preference for the U-Tri distance but then sniped some Tours on eBay for cheap and wish I had found them sooner.

2. A magnetic clip ball marker thing (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7179475748&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1). Clipped on the visor of the cap and always had my marker handy which means I spent more time looking at and thinking about my putt than I did digging around in my pocket for a coin.

So what other little things do you guys use that might make a difference out on the course?

* Casino Beef Capital golf towel

* NSWGA ball marker and pitch repairer won at the Kyogle GC 75th anniversary

I'm still waiting for the good form though ;)

one of the best things I've done is to have a wet ball towel with me...
I bring it with me to the green, and just clean the ball before putting it...
saves me time, no rules infringement and does the job nicely... :D

it's actually quite a nifty tool/gift/idea...
was interested in getting one (hard to find around here)...

then I started to think abt it...how much crap would I need to have in my pocket to not even find a coin??? unless u're one of those that walks to the ball, then starts to search for the coin...why not look for it when u're walking to the ball???

My favourite thingy is a pencil on a retractable string that clips to my buggy handle. I love it!!!!!
And I just keep my tees and markers in my bra. Easy :D

Used to have a belt clip-on divot tool with a magnetic marker that I won from Brookwater. Two-in-one and no digging in the pockets. I loved that thing, but now it's gone. :(

I also have a little plastic dome thingy that I use to mark a line on the ball. Invaluable. ;)

I carry a handkerchief in the same pocket as my coins etc. on a cold/wet day when the dexderity is low and my hands are a bit swollen it can be hard to fight items out of there.

I've found that a good eraser can do wonders for my scores.

the Line M Up is great....
Used to use it as a alignement aid on the putting green, but it was annoying the hell out of me that I wasn't lining them up straight...

now...it's just a great ball identifier mark... :D

funnily enuff, that plastic crap is still going strong after 5 years...

I use this thing....

Probably not as good as lineMup but still does the job :)

Didn't someone suggest the ring from the top of a milk bottle for marking a ball.

Got a line em up, best ever putting aid for me, just have to get my pace right.

Also got a Swingmaster & Impact bag they are working too, but the putting aid was an instant sucess.

Hey Mau,

http://stores.ebay.com.au/golfanddog is the seller I got it from but they appear to only have a couple of gloves up right now.

They sent me an email a few months after the purchase asking me if I wanted to be a distributer. Discussed here: http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3295

And I follow the links in the OzGolf thread I think http://www.ulovegolf.net/ might be their website. Give that a look.

So what other little things do you guys use that might make a difference out on the course?

I've got several little things...
• Magnetic ball marker clipped onto hat (no need for pocket billiards to find a marker)
• Xtra hand umbrella holder (might seem a bit gay to you southerners, but in the wet season up here, it is an essential - also allows you to hang gloves & towel underneath to keep them dry)
• 3rd wheel on the push buggy (helps save up energy for the business end of the round - especially in the draining humidity of summer)
• Small tupperware container for tees/ pencils/ markers (stops them from finding all the nooks & crannies in the bottom of the bag)

Ditto on both these. Both these make managing your gear in less than ideal conditions a heap easier.

Anyone got a pie-warmer in their bag?

I'm enjoying a couple of "comfort" items lately...

1. Footjoy DryJoy PRO shoes.
2. BagBoy Smoothy seat buggy.

Why make golf more unpleasant than it needs to be???

I was against the idea of it at the start (earlier post before) - but I think it was becoz I didn't wanna pay for it!!!
Got one as a souvenior for playing in the Sarawak Amateur Open last month, used it, and it's been great!!!

It did take me about a week of playing to get used to not putting my hand into the pocket to grab a ball marker...

The hat is the go. I draw a line on the ball and want to line up everything except the shortest tap-in. Having it right there ready instead of digging around prevents wasted time. Not that it is much but it certainly avoids any sighs or raised eyebrows from playing partners when you quickly mark and line up that 40cm putt.

I will have to go and have a look on Ebay for one then.

Don't they have them at your pro shop? That's where I got mine. I have also seen them at Golf World & Drummond Golf.

Might try Drummond tonight then, as for my Pro shop you have to be kidding.

the ball marker thingy is great...

i bought a titleist hat and it came with an inbuilt magnetic ball marker - there is a magnet on the side of the hat (you cant see it) and you get a nice titleist ball market. been putting better ever since =)

best thing is it cost the same as a normal hat!

McMw

only problem with that is that it'll eventually leave rust marks on the cap...
so get a black/dark cap!!!
