Lady ferret is driving down to the coast to go to Jupiters Casino. I told her to take the Nerang Broadbeach RD exit and when you hit the ocean it's on your left. She used her GPS instead and it took her all through Southport and along the strip.

Are people GPS and/or Google maps dependent? Seems to me to be very difficult to give people basic directions these days.

The GPS may have been set to shortest distance rather than quickest route.

I use it a lot for getting to customers, at least on my phone. Saying that, I generally take my own way there and it get's me the last turn or two. Somewhere like brissie where I don't know my way around I'd use it, though again probably take my own way across town then follow it once I'm closer. I do hate it when they make you do a right turn, or cross a busy as road where there are no lights! I do like watching the truckies near my place. There's a road behind us that has only been half built for a couple of years, but the whole thing appears on gps unit maps. So these big trucks with roof trusses, bricks etc etc head up that street, only to find it a dead end, then have to try and turn or back down a turning road. I get a laugh out of that.
