Apple accessories eBay

Looking at getting the camera kit and hdmi out for the iPad. Are the clone accessories on eBay ok? For example you can get a camera kit for under $10 compared to $30+ for genuine apple.

Any experiences good bad or otherwise?

My boss gets all his iPad/iPhone accessories off deals extreme and the like, and has never had a problem with them. He works on the "if they break or don't work it's cheap enough to just throw away and get another one" theory.
