Out of interest, how hard do you press down with your feet in your golf swing.

1 being not at all consciously and 10 as hard as possible.

On transition, more like pushing heaps into the ground.

This.
Left foot driven into ground and then rotate.

You only push into the ground with enough force to stop yourself from falling over. Newton's third law doesn't stop applying because you're holding a golf club.

Trolling aside though, the difference might be that some people have to feel like they're doing it as part of their weight transfer. People who have a less balanced swing probably have to exert more force with their legs to keep themselves from falling over too.

Ground pressures are a result, not a cause.

How can you press your feet down harder if you don't have something to leverage off of?

I have a lot above my feet.

Chuck Norris presses the ground hard enough to put the Earth out of its orbit.

Hitting balls in bare feet - as a practice drill taught me you dont need allot of downward pressure

You lever off the downswing.

There is a lot of power to be had off the feet and legs.

isn't that part of the whole stack n tilt thing?

No mate.

Look at any swing in slow motion and you will see how much they use the ground for leverage against the downswing.

On the downswing, the hips are rather violently rotating anti-clockwise and up. (in a good swing anyway)

You want to see it in brutality . . . look at Bubba. For something more conventional, check out Louis O or Sun Moon Bae.
