View Full Version : Wanted: Mizuno MP!!!!! to have a crack at

Zak

Hi guys,

Looking at trying something well out of my league and really like the look of the Mizunos, especially the 63 and similar.

Well above my skill level but doesn't hurt to try, or maybe it will.......

Not sure about prices etc but thought it would be a good time while I am in Sydney with all the ho's..... And no point taking back an empty bag.......

Have a set of R11's with regular graphite that I was hitting well and then got some used RAC TP MB's in a steel stiff shaft that I am also striking ok but just really like the look of the 63's and 69's.

Got my eye on a set of 67's but have no idea in regards to comparisons.

Pro i am getting lessons off at whaleback was recommending I get fitted out with some 59's I think but not too keen on forking out a small fortune again after the 1100 bucks for the R11's just before Xmas......

Hope to hear from some of you soon with positive, negative or even some clubs!!!!!

Cheers

Zak

IMO - go the 59's. Still have the players look, but doesnt require the low single figure skill level.

Try some MP58's they are the older version of the MP59's and should be cheaper.

Demoed r11 today compare to my mp60s it's very different I was hitting the 6 iron about 180 yards on the launch monitor vs 170 using a demo set of mp58?.. The r11 felt it was workable with heaps of explosiveness where as the mizuno is just workable.. Not very exciting IMO... But everyone is different for me I would stick with r11s

try 58's 57's or 60's, great look, thinnish top line to resemble the 67,68,69 or even 32's
but more forgiving
I play off 16 now and recently had 60's but just switched to 32's (thanks to liptout) so don't be thinking you can't hit any iron
take the plunge for the right price and give them a go, you won't regret it

I dunno zak.... if youve got diming on the faces of all your scoring irons its probably not worth it. Try to find some with the chrome mostly still intact on the faces of the short irons if you can, then you should still have some life in the grooves...

Zak, these irons are tough to hit, don't bite more than you can choo!
If you want to try Mizzy blades then go with the 33's, cheaper and look nice.
Don't be too fussed about grooves, they will spin.

Wasn't too sure and thought that they may be a little worn.... They didn't go at 295 and he has relisted at 280.

Thanks for the tip mate.

Sounds good, a lot better than looking down at beaten up clubs......

Looking forward to coming back to Perth......

Disclaimer: Im heavily biased towards mizuno

I have hit just about every iron they made in the last 6-7 years

They rarely make a bad iron. They look better than must clubs - no stupid bling inserts

Even the thicker topline models have a lovely look to them

If your not a great ball striker - consider the jpx pro - still forged but more forgiving

Or the mx 300 would be very cheap too.

I purchased a set of 33's off here about 6 months ago. Hadnt played blades for around 20 years but absolutely loved the shorter irons. Feel was incredible and it added another dimension to my game inside 100.

two months ago I went through the mizuno fit process and found it to be a really good process. The swing fit recommended S300, Project x 5.5 and KBS stiff. Fortunately I tested all the shafts and heads and walked away with 53's in project x 6.0.

Best decision I have ever made. I have played Callaway exclusively since 1997 but the switch was seemless. I tested all the current topline models and Mizuno was worlds apart for me.

Grab a 2nd hand set somewhere that match your current shaft and lie specs and see what you think. If you fall in love I will guarantee you that you will be lining up for a current model.

Loved the 68, 69 and 59 but the 53 worked best for me.

Good luck with the hunt.
