Ok in light of my round on Sunday.

Just wondering what peoples PBs are and what there hcp was when they had there pb.  And was it the perfect round (well the best you could do) or did you leave lots of shots behind.

Shazza_rs 83 hcp 22 at St Lucia 5/9/05 (first time under 90)-best she has ever hit the driver/irons
Peter_rs 83 hcp 23 at St Lucia 5/9/05 (5 time under 90 in six months since playing TM LT and S59   )

The story of the day was my short game 40 putts is bad and I could not chip . I will put a little on course condition and a new ball in the bag (Z-UR so soft on the putter). prime example par 5 6th (450m) driver PW to 1m of the green walked of with a six after a bad chip and a 3 putt.  Most of the day I was hitting driver PW or SW on 370m holes.  It was one of the best efforts I have ever had with the driver with a 48" driver I did not have to try and hit my driver  just swing and I was nailing it eg on the 4th 280m easy swing pin high 1m off the green.

It was a fun day and I think even andylo had fun and set a new course record for himself.  Shazza set the pace on the way out 40 of the stick on a par 37.

As Pete has said, my PB is an 83 (hcp 22) at St Lucia.

I think you may have got my first 9 score a little wrong. :D

I had 40, par was 36. I had 4 bogeys and 5 pars. Could have been better because I 3 putted the 9th hole.

The difference between my front and back nine was my approach shots. For the front nine i actually was making greens in regulation. The second nine I was a little off so was having to make up and downs. :(

All in all, I dont' really think I could have played any better. I am not expecting to have a perfect round when my hcp is 22.

My Pb is at Macarthur Grange last year with a 82 gross with 27 handicap turned into a 55 nett. Was in last years matchplay championships and I lost that day too 2 & 1 :? Had 1 eagle, 3 birdies, 2 pars, 2 bogies, 4 doubles, a triple & couple of brain explosion holes. Could have been way better but for the ugly stuff that a 27 marker can do.

It really was the begining of my improvement. It is moving very slowly.

PB was 86 with a 25 handicap during the semi-finals of the 2004 club matchplay. I was playing a 15 marker. Beat her on the 15th hole. Haven't come close since - 93 I think is the closest.

I play her again this year in the semis

I've never had a handicap over 17 so I haven't had a great chance at getting the sort of nett scores you guys are talking about.

I've had a nett seven under round twice in competition.

At McLeod in 2004 I had a 79 (+8) playing off 15.
Hard to recall what shots I left behind, and it's best not to dwell on it, but I do recall having a triple bogey on the par 3 2nd (our 11th), and limping through a couple of holes after that.

At Nambour a few months ago I had a 74 (+6) playing off 13.
Played pretty solidly the whole round, and only stumbled on the easiest hole on the course, par 3 115m 6th.  Had a very sloppy double bogey due to poor chipping.

Both rounds started with a birdie. I wonder if there is something in that.

Really?
You didn't supply nett scores in your initial post.

Regardless they are my better scores.

Think I had a 78 in a social round at Carbrook too.

Back in my early 20's when I was playing off 7 I shot 72(par 71) at the Mt Isa Pro Am 8) Had a few other rounds of 74 at the Willows golf course Townsville. Those were the good old days

My first par round (72) was when I was playing off 8. I have repeated the dose off lesser handicaps on a number of occasions, but have never been able to go sub-par in competition.

Best Nett score was when I was off 20 as a junior (13) in 1987 in Charleville...4th ever game in the members, I shot a 75 (+3) off the stick for a 55nett 8) Course rating was 68...needless to say I was off around 14 I think the next week.

Best gross is a 68 (-4) with 7 birdies (5 in a row to finish!!!) in 1993 when I was off 3 before I had a 5 year break (1994 - 1999) and a 70 last year off 5 in the 2nd round of the City Club champs.

Best comp round is 7over a couple of times, although the first time I did it I added my score wrong, scored myself a 6 instead of a 5 on a hole. Maths is not my forte. Best social round is 74 on nudgee south, hit every fairway that day and was the first game with a new driver. Talk about a honeymoon period. I was off about 16 for both those times.

Best nine holes is 1 over, and I've done it a few times, including in a nine hole comp. I bogeyed the 18th at city (the 9th hole of the comp) that day. Really wanted that up and down for par.

I tend to have one great nine and one bad nine. I seem to be able to shoot 3ish over for nine holes but can't keep it up.

My best gross round(s) were whilst playing off 8. Earlier this year I shot 74 twice (par 72). Both rounds included a double bogey and at least 3 birdies. So yes, I did leave some out there. My best nett was probably the 76 (nett 66) I shot while playing off 10 to win last November's A Grade Monthly Medal. It seems like I have hardly gone close to breaking 80 since.

My best round was a few weeks back 78 gross playing off 15 (social), did it again the next week (social), then the next 2 weeks after that i have lost a shot each week :D Although i have left ALOT of shots out there on all four rounds.

Best 9 hole score is 36 (par) was pretty chuffed with that, shot a 79 that day. I sound very simular to goughy as i am a victim of the brain explosions on the back nine

48 points is my best - was the first time i ever played to my 27 handicap.
once i lost about 20 strokes, i have had a 46pts three times, one of them was just last year.

As usual plenty of shots left out there - no matter how well you play, you always do.

Pb is 64 (66) and in comp 66. I can't recall a single shot of either round. Never broken par on a "full" course.

Nett PB is 52points while off 25 :D But even more enjoyable was getting 46 points when a good buddy in the same group shot the lights out and had 46, muahahahaha!!!

68 (-2) in a social round Wednesday...then that sunday, shot 69 (-1) in the MM...for a nett 63...won by 1 shot too...
71 (-1) on a full layout in a invited only comp round...

but the best round I ever had was a 74 (+2) in the Miri Course...it was the best I've ever played there, and whilst I had one good piece of luck with a BS chip-in bird in the round, I also had some poor shots...so it was a very satisfying round nevertheless...had a chance to play to par too...couldn't birdie the last 2 holes (par5s)...that was frustrating...

I've had 68 on 3 occasions, including Wynnum and City GC, plus a course called Oyster Bay in South Carolina. Recently I've been very happy to break 80.

Best nett was a 49 points at wynnum, when I was playing off 13 as a 16 year old... Shot par off the stick with a borrowed set of irons. No woods, just irons.... There's probably a lesson in that somewhere!

Ona,,,that would be at Queens park right?

I have had a few 1-2 overs playing off low teens, none of them really stand out.

Played a few 9 holes at even, never been under for 9 though.

Last few months have struggled to get below 78-79 mainly due to short game.

yep, R&A Queens Park, with the worst case of throw-away you've never seen.

I've had 92 at both Tocumwal (President's Course) and Rosebud when out with FG and Speirsy.

Both featured about 40 putts. I am such a flatstick hack.

Both in the same round.

Played Carnarvon at 11 over playing off 20. That was 1st round of OzGolf matchplay. More interested in the matchplay so wasn't worried about the stroke and it fell mostly into place. Must remember to not think about the score.

Have played 9 holes in 2 over twice. Would love to be able to put them together

My best for nine holes is an even par 34 at Nambour earlier this year. Very satisfying. :D

68 OTS at The Coast (2 under).

But by far the best round was 70 at Horizons (2 under) from the plates with the course Pro, Dave Merriman. 3 Putted 17 for a bogey  and missed a birdie from 4 feet on 18.

I didn't mention my best score for 9 holes. That would be a 2 under 33 on the front nine at Cairns GC. Of course, I couldn't keep it together on the back and finished +5...
