By all accounts it was pretty good accomodation. We can just book enough rooms for the amount of people that have already registered. Anyone that wants to stay there on the saturday night, who hasn't registered by now, can book their own rooms i think.

OK. I just spoke to the manager at City Lights Motel. Currently, there is a big fishing group booked in for the 26th. However, there are still 8 rooms available, including one family room.

The rooms have one double (or queen) size bed and one single. He's going to do the same rate as last year. $75 for two people to a room. If a third person wants to stay in a room, it's extra $10.

So the eight rooms will comfortably hold 17 people (two to a room and three in the family room) and can hold up to 25 if some of you are willing to share the double beds ... :shock: :lol:

There are plenty of rooms availble for the Sunday night (27th) for those of us needing to stay the extra night. Same rates apply.

I've booked 6 rooms. One of those has two singles and two queens, and another has 1 double and 2 singles. The others have 1 double and 1 single (or something similar).

So assuming each person wants his own bed, we can fit in 15 people. I think we can fit in another 3 with foldout beds.

I didn't book the other two because one was a honeymoon room with only a queen size bed and a spa (which costs extra) and the other room is a small one with just one queen size bed (but costs just as much as the other rooms). If any Ozgolf couple wants the honeymoon room (eg. G69 and MTB ... :twisted: ) I can book that also.

So at this stage, the maximum it's going to cost is $37.50 per person. It'll end up being slightly less if we have more than 2 to a room.

OK, I've just rung the motel, and it looks like there's been some cancellations. I've now booked us NINE rooms.

Unfortunately, the BIG room (where Tezza, Nudgee, and I stayed in last year) has been given away to a group of 5. Bit annoyed that he did this without ringing me first.

Anyway, here's the current situation.

1 room with a double bed and two singles. (3 beds)
7 rooms with a double and a single. (2 beds)
1 room with a double bed (1 bed)

I've already had a request for the 1 bed room. Tezza, Jarro and I will stay in the 3 bed room.

So I guess the issue is how we split up the remaining 7 rooms. Probably the best way to do it is 2 to a room. However, if 2 of you are willing to share a double bed, then we could have 3 to a room. The manager did mention that he's got couple of roll out beds which can be utilized.

Anyway, here's the list again. Feel free to slot yourself into a room.

I have called the motel and confirmed the rooms for Sat and Sun nights. (no backing out now ... :wink: ) Last year, I collected the money at the golf course, and it got a bit messy as I didn't keep track of who paid. This year, I'm hoping to collect the money on Saturday at the dinner. Please have your money ready by then. 8)

Basically, each room is $75 up to 2 people. If you have a third person in your room, add $20 to that. How you divide the cost for your room is up to you. You can break it evenly, or have the guy with the biggest bed pay more, or whatever.

PS. Damo, you can take $5 off yours as I owe you for the Masters tipping comp. :wink:

whilst at kingscliff the other weekend, i went for another capriciosa at galileo's (best pizza on that stretch). i ordered extra salami.
they forgot the salami when i turned up and said they were making a new pizza...i asked if i could also have the one they 'buggered' up which they obligingly gave me. 2 capriciosa and weihenstephaner hefeweizens, heaven....

man, if we weren't playing satday arvo....i'd be back at his hut like a shot.

If Andy wants to stay with us then there is no need to cancel the room. If he doesn't then, I'll call the motel tomorrow. I told them last Friday that we would definitely need all the rooms (they wanted me to confirm by last Friday). If they say that it's too late, then could someone from Eag's room share with the big guy? :wink:

Nudgee and Pat ... Just come along. We can have 3 people to a room. I've reserved 2 trundle beds for us and worst case senario is that someone might have to sleep on the floor or share a double bed.

I'll hold onto the 9 rooms. If Jamie/Pat/Alo don't turn up, then Eags can share with Vegas.
