New week, new thread.

Went out for a bash today in the 'Snake Gully Challenge' at Windaroo (Blue Tee day)

Did absolutely nothing special all round. Hit some good shots, hit some terrible ones.

89 Gross
72 Nett - ACR 73 (clubhouse leader at 12pm...haha...)
Got on two NTP's so will see if I can keep those too...

Was going along ok until the 8th hole where lost a ball in the rough/slop/mud/rubbish left, went back and then put the next one in the hazard right.
Aaaargh...

I suppose the positives are that i'm doing nothing but still 'getting it around'.

Handicap will drop to 16 (16.3) which is a new low for me since starting to play again...

Next round, Monthly Medal on Sat....

Well today I played scroungers at Kwinana and it was going to be my last chance before next week (2 months into my membership) to try and get my handicap down below an exact 18 from the 24.1 it started on as my goal was to get below 20 but extra goal below 18. I needed 38 points which was definitely not out of reach and only 33 to go down a shot to 18 on playing handicap. Woke up this morning thinking come on, this is it, only to get to the club and print out my card to be told we are playing off the front of the tees (pretty much ladies tees) every hole and it won't go towards your handicap as it is going to be a 'fun' day.

Well that wrecked my day but I went around in a gross 84 for 43 points - 24 on the front and 19 on the back.
Didn't putt that well and the back 9 left a bit to be desired but I just kept managing to scrape in my 2 points a hole.

Luckily basketball training has been cancelled on Saturday so I get another chance to get below the 18 this weekend :D.

Getting there. A lot smoother now as there are no coring holes but are still quite furry and slow compared to what they are usually like. I think another couple of weeks they should be ready to be mowed right down and be back to usual!

Single stab in the slop at Cairns GC this morning with Haysey, Dolarman & DCanto (Tomson is still dancing to Kylie Minogue at Mardi Gras).

Started on the back 9 and couldn't really get much going, didn't even manage a 3-pointer. Got it back on track on the front with back-to-back birds on 1 & 2. Had a decent look at another one on the 3rd, as well.

Stats here (http://golfshot.com/rounds/detail/69-8999081-8999164).

76/78 in foursomes. Think we finished 3rd. A double and a triple in round two killed us. We finished 5 behind.

1 under par today for +3, first round under par at my new club. Happy with my game overall except for my pitching from 60-80m which is awful. Some new wedges might be the answer.

... and I'm sure a new driver will help your short game as well. Any excuse. :)

I don't need a new driver - I hit every fairway yesterday with the one I have.

80 net 76 in 40 degree heat. Was playing decent until the heat kicked my ass. 6 over in the final 6, boo.

Doing everything as well as or better than I have in the past, but the cap is rising. 3, 4, now might be 5.

I feel like Tourfit at a high school dance, I can't score.

I took $30 from Simmsy and Id, so all was not lost.

Watching Simmsy cold top a tee shot on a par 3, into the water was well worth the price of admission and removed me from having the worst shot of the day.

Golf is doing my head in. Got in 9 holes. 4 pars, 2 single bogey and 3 atomic clusterferks for 17 points. Lost 6 balls on the three disaster holes. Can't hit the driver if my life depended on it.

Finally won something... Elimination Ambrose :-/

8 birdies and no bogies for a gross 64 killed the pig so to speak! Nett 55.5! Not bad for a bunch of choppers, lowest marker was 11. One of those strange days were one player would hit a great shot when needed or sink a 10 footer for par!

I putted last on all holes and nailed birdies on 2, 3 and 17 when all others had missed! 4 times we were dead and was up to me to find the fairway or green so was really happy with my swing under pressure!

$50 Harvey voucher for my troubles!

How good was my flop shot and putt on 17 though. Pure Awesomness.

Yeah John, tell us all.
Before I take poetic license on it.

It was Fit-esque!! But better.

You can tell, but the truth, not what you told Watty. It got to the edge of the green and rolled back a couple feet, not back to my feet..

33pts at Mt Osmond yesterday (18f/15b).
Started out with well with a 5/2 on the 1st followed by a 2/4 on the second and I was on 11 points after 4 holes. Unfortunately I then topped my 3wood off the tee on the 5th and drove into a bunker on the 6th for 2 wipes in a row.
Hit the 7th green with the driver and was left with a ~5m putt for eagle. Of course I then get a little too excited and putt 4m past the hole and end up 3 putting for the most disappointing par of my life.
Ended up with 1 x Birdie, 7 x Pars and 4 x Wipes. 4 FW, 7 GIR.
Putting was pretty bad again (greens were a bit faster than I'm used to though), with 4 x 3 putts and 1 x 4 putt, 39 putts total. Driving was so-so but irons were good (hit green on 4/5 par 3's)
Course was very nice and has a fantastic view over Adelaide from the tee on the 8th.

Naracoorte Saturday gross score of 92 (79 nett) came from poor putting, could not get the confidence to get the ball up to or past the hole with the first crack.Sunday front nine score of 43 with 16 putts it was the best round I have had at Naracoorte. The second nine was a failure, not getting a par until the 18th hole finishing with 47 strokes and 18 putts. gross 90 (Nett 77)
