Did a search but couldn't find anything so here it goes, my mizzys mx300 has some really wired loft from 5-7 it's 3 degrees apart, from 7-9 it's 4 degrees and the 9-pw is back to 3, that is the official figures anyway, just find it strange, because of that I have a massive gap between my 7 and 8, was wondering if it's common practice to just make it 3 or 4 degrees apart through out the set? Or should i just leave it as it is. Can I get some real life examples thanks.

Generally you'll find most irons vary 3-5 degrees across the set depending on the design, and sometimes you will see 2 degree differences in the lower lofts. If you are getting consistent distance gaps the you shouldn't worry about it, otherwise you can go to a club fitter and go through the set with them and get them to alter the lofts/lies etc to get consistent distance gaps if thats what you want.

That is pretty much how it has been for eons.

the higher the loft - the less the change in distance for each degree... so more of a loft gap.

Lower irons the opposite.

The gap between 7 and 8 is due to your swing. Sorry

my pw is 45 and I hit that 100m then for 9I which is 3 degrees difference and that goes 110, but between 7 (150) - 8 (130) - 9 (110) due to the 4 degrees difference I am getting 20 meter gaps, I know I can go easy on the 7 and the 8 to reduce the gap but easy for me is different each round ;P so does anything make it say all 3 or 4 degrees across the board? or just learn to take some of a full swing?

No..

Your just hitting some irons better than the other. it is impossible for 3-4 degree to have a 20m difference.

Sorry mate - not the club.

10 meter difference, not 20, but yes 1 degrees for 10 meters doesn't really add up, although I don't agree with your "not the club" theory, but your critical thinking has lead me to believe i should get my loft checked, thanks :)

I have some Mizzy MX-300's, noice!
I find the distance gaps to be spot on really.

"8 (130) - 9 (110) due to the 4 degrees difference I am getting 20 meter gaps, "

20m from 4 degrees. Unless my maths is way out.

Has absolutley nothing to do with the club. They are not a soft steel clubs - the lofts wont move. Anywhere from 8 12 YARDS for a 4 degree gap is normal.

Sorry . . .

If the gap between two clubs is 10m then you can attribute half that difference to the loft gap and the other half to the shaft gap.

Spot on as in spot on for you? or you are getting the same gap as what I am experiencing?

Don't have to be sorry :P 20m from 4 degrees or 10 meter from 1 degrees, same thing, but is it possible loft can change after 2 and half years of playing?

If the gap between two clubs is 10m then you can attribute half that difference to the loft gap and the other half to the shaft gap.

So 1/2 inch and 3 degrees = to 10 meters, if my clubs is still the official loft then 1/2 inch and 4 degrees should technically equate to aprox 12-3 meters?

lol judging by your numbers Virge's theory might be right, I must hit my 7I very well and my 8,9,pw like crap, or according to my theory those 3 lofts are really wrong...

Yeah possibly, but hard to believe thou, if anything I should be flushing the short irons, I'll get the loft checked any how.

Thanks for all the input btw.
