Was she known to be on her death bed tho?

Deathbed, possibly not, but surely anyone with a heavy drug addiction is only one bad dose away from death?

A fair few attendees of her concert tour here said that she stunk pretty bad, so the signs were there.

Some live life in the fast lane until they are 80. Sure, when they keel over people say yeah, yeah, hardly a surprise, but there are so many others that just keep on keeping on. I hadn't heard anything about any illness or health struggles.

Cause of death is actually unknown at this point, tho likely to be caused by many years of substance abuse. I wouldn't have been surprised to see her kicking on for another decade or more tho. Many have.

News of Whitney Houston's death travelled with such speed. When I heard I couldn't help but crack up with emotion. She was a real heroin. It's such a blow. She really made a hash of things though. Her life just went to pot. Someone should have kept tabs on her.

geez, I'm struggling if jokes are old within 48 hours of her death!

How about:

She died doing what she did best, holding a note

OR

Line at her funeral is longer than the one that killed her

Webster
13th February 2012, 02:46 PM
In all seriousness, what happended to her was pretty sad. To go from being a nice wholesome God bothering lass who looked like she could have been on the Cosby show, to ending up looking like one of the Williams sisters is a pretty decent fall from grace.

Why is heavy drug use accepted in performers and entertainers, but sportsman are supposed to be roll models and can't have a beer?

It must be just an east coast thing, of teenage runaways congregating around Central Station, Kings Cross, etc. then get into drugs and later prostitution, dealing, stealing, etc. to pay for it. (Based on numerous newspaper articles, when a 25yo ends up in the morgue or court, on a high profile charge.)

Many years ago, I worked one day in a bleeding heart Darlinghurst pharmacy, that sold a 'number' bottles of cough mixture. (They kept a register, one bottle-per-day to registered users.) Business hours were the unemployed and occasional prossie. Early evening were suits on the way home from the CBD. Evening was patrons going to a gay bar.

The suits were a shock, as all my suburban and country experience was with 'jeans, thongs, shirt optional' (or flanelette or a singlet).

We'll wait and see what the NSAC gives him, it could be longer then a year. I like him as a fighter but its hard to like him with a personality like he has.Dana White is complaining about the treatment Floyd Mayweather Jr is getting compare to everyone else, the judge is letting him have his next fight before he goes to jail, that's impressive.
