View Full Version : Club Pelican to Noosa??

I won a couple of nights in a suite at the RACV/RACQ resort in Noosa as first prize in the Pro Am.

How hard would it be to tack this on the champs?
What golf courses of note are on the way and in the area? Especially those on the Golf Australia public access list or those that should be. (there is a reason I need to see these sort of places)

Help me decide on whether to use or sell this voucher.

You talking about going there after the champs?

Noosa is about an hour north of pelican (bit less but leave it at that).

Courses: Noosa Tewantin, Noosa Springs, Peregian springs.

Noosa would be a comfortable hour from Pelican (it is 45 mins from my place so add 10 mins). As for between PW and Noosa there is Twin Waters, Hyatt Coolum, Peregian Springs and Noosa Springs (just) in between (I've only seen Hyatt). Think of Noosa as latte sipping by the beach and that pretty much covers it.

Use the voucher, play Noosa Springs and drink macchiato's with the other Melbournians.

Is Twin Waters the only course of note on the way then? Never heard of the others.

Maybe I will invite the missus to join me on Sunday night - saves an air fare.

Coolum although you probably played that last year. Peregian springs is ok, I'd rate it above twin waters.

Do I need to bring beers and golf balls for you?

Noosa Springs would be of similar quality to Twin Waters too, I would imagine.

Hyatt Coolum is the best course up there and is halfway from Caloundra to Noosa. Twin Waters is ok if you get it free or cheap.

You would also go past or near other courses like Caloundra GC and Headland GC, but it sounds like you are after the better tracks.

For a real treat you could consider Nambour.

I would play Nambour before Twin Waters, nothing inspiring about that place. At least Nambour is different and I like what they did with the greens.

No. The rebuild of them ya stirrer. When they were the old standard blue couch greens they were tiny and penal the course is more playable now.

Spend the money play the Hyatt. Best on the coast by far. If your at Noosa and don't want to travel
Noosa Springs is better then Peregian in my book.

Twin Waters is well overrated.
