Evening all... thought I would give this a go as I will be up all night anyway...
Think I have a corrupt Active directory on SBS 2008... need someone to bounce ideas off. DSRM is not available...
Anyone bored and want their evening ruined ?

Hey mate,
you said DSRM not availiable, how about a backup of your server state? even if its a few weeks old shouldnt cause much data loss with a state only restore...?

That is what we are trying... but one of my employees wasn't backing it up.
esentutl is working overtime trying to repair.
Is there a system state copy on a basic SBS 2008 anywhere ?

Ouch... without recent backups could be tricky... is there only the one server or does AD replicate across to another on your domain? im assuming its only the 1 server setup being SBS?
even an old backup should get you mostly out of the brown stuff, may lose a few users etc but your group policies etc shouldnt have changed too much since being set up i wouldnt think.
edit - while typing youve sorted it! good stuff

no worries, glad it worked out for you mate, having to setup a server again due to the lack of backups sucks big time!
cheers
