Hi All

Are there any fish tank experts on here ?

Rachelle's work fish tank had an inundation of babies over the xmas break and this week brought home about 50 small fry. I think they are cichlids but cant be sure.

Let them grow up a bit and then my Cichlid will gladly play with them.

Use them for bait, when kayak fishing.

They're definitely tadpoles. Those cane toads are moving south at a rapid rate.

Looks like my Cichlid when I bought it. It's over 10cm long now and had to be isolated as it ate all of Megan's fish.

Grunt need to know what type of cichlid it as, as African and American cichlids need differing water conditions.

Yeah Mudrat, I have learnt that. All Rachelle told me the guy told her was they need alkaline water.

they are tough little buggers to get a pic of but will try. Am going to go to the aquarium on Heathcote Road later to get them to have a look at pics I took.

Why didn't you just leave them with the parents? Most cichlids are good at raising their young.

Parents are in a tank at Rachelle's work with other cichlids and would have just become snacks for the others. have been informed by the local aquariums that they are more than likely African cichlids and once they are bigger we will know what they are more definitely.
