Ah, that's where all the midweek golfers have gone. No wonder I wasn't getting a response for a hit at Wally Park.

Why? I know my course isn't anywhere near the quality of Brisbane.
I would have put my name down if the time was more convenient.

Because I didnt want to be percieved as a golf snob, though I've never played Wolston Park, so I'm really in no postition to comment.
They are having these once a month, so see how you're going next time maybe.... I close up the factory here on Fridays after lunch so I had to get the last time available. The way the sheet filled up, I think a few people have the same idea.

The way the sheet filled up, I think a few people have the same idea.I couldn't do it because I have to be here when the kids get home from school.
Once I settle into my new job, there may be a chance that I could knock off early on a Friday.

Ok .. will try to explain the match I had with Iain.
Iain makes bogey on the firstm and par on the second to go two up.
Marto hasnt made a par in the first 7 holes .... yet is now 1 up.
Lots of halves with bogeys until 14 when Iain makes a mess of a pitch shot. Marto again wins it with a bogey, pars 15 to go 3 up and 16 is halved in doubles.
Marto wins 3/2 in possibly the worst golf match ever played between two single figure golfers.
As I said, at least the company was good.

And we finished mid field!
197 players ... my 23 points was 110th.
You needed 30 to get a ball in the rundown ... and 37 points won the day.

Why? What made it so hard?
Marto65
11th February 2012, 09:29 AM
Course wasnt in great nic after the rain ... no fault of greenkeepers. Tricky pins made putting and trying to get up and down a nightmare, little dried mud bombs made chipping pretty tough.
Plus .. they play the first as a par 4 .. so they take a shot away from you on your handicap before you start.
It's playable ... you just have to play really good - and smart.
