IanO

Cool .. I am staying at Sea Temple, so just around the corner.

What day suits best?

I intend to play at least 2 of every 3 days but have to take my wife around for a few of the rounds as I have been trying to get her interested in golf

haysey
16th December 2011, 04:21 PM
Either the 31st or the 2nd works for me.

Dcanto
16th December 2011, 05:05 PM
I might be able to make it.

The 2nd would be my preference but I'm happy to fit in with whatever suits the majority.

Should be right. I've got that week off.

Courty
16th December 2011, 11:04 PM
I'm on leave from Dec 23rd so count me in as well.

mike
16th December 2011, 11:06 PM
From the 26th? You working 25th?

mike
16th December 2011, 11:07 PM
IanO, Mossman is better than Sea Temple.

Courty
16th December 2011, 11:10 PM
From the 26th? You working 25th?

Maybe. Someone's gotta save the city from that fat bearded bloke.

IanO, Mossman is better than Sea Temple.

Don't listen to him, IanO. Although Mossman does have some great holes for what it is.

haysey
16th December 2011, 11:10 PM
I'm on leave from the 21st. So I'll be playing about a third of the golf I usually do. Sigh!

Mate of mine in Sydney is a firey. He requests to work Christmas day. With loading and penalties makes over a grand in a day.

Bump.

Any closer to nailing down a date?

The morning of the 31st would be my suggestion if it suits?

IanO
21st December 2011, 05:26 PM
The morning of 31 December is fine with me .. who else is in.

I would prefer Sea Temple (as it leaves my wife with the car)

My wife and I will probably try to book in for a game as Mossman on the morning of 29 December

haysey
21st December 2011, 06:12 PM

IanO
22nd December 2011, 12:57 PM
So we have Tomson and Courty, there was a Julie but nothing heard since then.

What time suits everyone? I was thinking 8'ish and how do we book it? Do you guys get a cheaper rate than us tourists? (I do get a bit of a discount because I am at the resort)

mike
22nd December 2011, 02:27 PM

Mike enjoys the carting aspect of golf so Sea Temple is kind to him :)

mike
22nd December 2011, 02:49 PM
Pfft.

If I ever get to be president of Golf Australia I'm going to ban them.

IanO
22nd December 2011, 05:02 PM
If you ban the carts can you ban the broomstick?

mike
22nd December 2011, 06:29 PM
Nah, I don't have a problem with broomies.

Julie
22nd December 2011, 07:50 PM

Outcast

I have approval; definitely in

IanO
27th December 2011, 04:49 PM
OK all, we just need to book.
Is it best that I do it or do you get a better rate?

Courty
27th December 2011, 04:57 PM
OK all, we just need to book.

Done. 7:37 & 7:45am.

Is it best that I do it or do you get a better rate?

Any locals will need to present ID to get a discount. I didn't ask what the rate was, but I expect it's around $80.

It is Monthly Medal, so the comp will be stroke. Normally that would be off the blues, but the guys said it was written down as white tees (could well be a mistake). A decision on comp play can be made on the day.

See you there!

Courty

1st post updated with tee times.

Btw, my BIL is still in pencil at this stage. I'll confirm as soon as I know.

Julie
27th December 2011, 05:57 PM
I know it is a day early, but could we get a start on some of the 2012 matchplay's on the day as well.

DCanto,

if your playing we could do a round of matchplay perhaps?

Dcanto
28th December 2011, 09:30 PM
Sorry Outcast but I am a non starter due to family commitments. When do you head out to sea again?

Courty
29th December 2011, 06:53 PM
My BIL is also out, but Solarman is now a possibility.

mike
29th December 2011, 09:34 PM
If this rain keeps up I'm no chance.

Sorry Outcast but I am a non starter due to family commitments. When do you head out to sea again?

Around 23 Jan or so; as organised, we'll play at Cairns on the 4th if this weather improves...

Perhaps I might be able to get my game with Solarman done if, he plays and, the friggin rain stops...

Courty
30th December 2011, 08:56 AM

What rain?

I took this pic outside my front door this morning:

Wow. There's proof right there that the sea levels are rising.

Courty
30th December 2011, 02:43 PM
Apparently Solarman was foxing. He can't make it due to a clash with pedicure appointment.

Julie, against better judgement (I had a lesson yesterday) I'm willing to play our match tomorrow?

Julie
30th December 2011, 06:33 PM
Okay Courty, that should be fun. The weather is looking pretty good at the moment. (fingers crossed.)

mike
31st December 2011, 04:20 PM
Thanks guys. Good to meet you IanO. Also good to catch up with Tomson, Courty, Julie and Outcast. Thanks for the rock Courty.

Sea Temple off the blues .. whose idea was that?

Jarro
31st December 2011, 04:31 PM
Did you kick arse mikey ?

mike
31st December 2011, 04:44 PM
Apart from spraying most of my drives to the right I played pretty good. The course was wet and carts had to stick to the cart path and light rough. On just about every hole I managed to hit to the opposite side of the fairway to where the cart path was. Friggin golf buggys.

Lost my match to Tom.

Sea Temple off the blues .. whose idea was that?

I blame IanO. ;)

1st post updated with scores.

Thanks for the round, Ian. Thoroughly enjoyable. It was great to watch you work your way around your new 2nd home in solid style.

Thanks to Julie for the match. It was a hollow victory given how poorly we both played. I think it was a case of who was less worse.

Thanks for a great day out! The weather turned out fantastic as was the company! I will definitely be back.

When I left Thomson was winning the monthly medal on count back from me, but it was still early days.

PS. Playing off the Blues makes some of those holes VERY long!

When I left Thomson was winning the monthly medal on count back from me, but it was still early days.According to Comp rank it looks like that's how it stayed. Can an outsider win the Monthly Medal? I came 5th with a nett 74.

PS. Playing off the Blues makes some of those holes VERY long! You and Tom were best scores with 1 over handicap. Tough setup.
