Played at Bardwell Valley today in QF Engineering Xmas Golf Day. Was a 2 man Ambrose event and I played quite well, i was teamed up with a mate from work off 16 and we combined to shoot 4 over off the stick to be runners up on the day. For that we won a Heineken fridge keg and $50 Westfield Voucher. I also won a NTP to get 2 bottles of wine and 6 Callaway I tour balls. On the whole it was a good day.

Well done. It's always nice when a golf day has half-decent prizes.

Just won the Sat AM Comp at Mt Lawley...

79 Gross (37-42) / 69 Nett, won on countback 'cos I shot 37 gross on the back 9!

Back 9 : 2 birdies, 3 bogeys, 4 pars
Front 9 : 6 bogeys, 3 pars

7/14 FW's
9/18 GIR
31 Putts

Quite a few of the missed fairways were by not very much, a couple of GIR's were also in the fringe.

I turned +1 off the stick, and then had 6 straight bogeys on holes 1-6 and then finished with 3 straight pars! What could've been.

But pretty happy, as I haven't played very well lately, and it's the 1st Saturday Comp I've won in the 6 yrs I've been there!

Single stab at Cairns GC with Solarman this afternoon.

As predicted earlier, I shot 32 pts. The scary thing is, I had 40 putts. I'm still trying to work out what went wrong. Tee to green I was quite happy with how I hit the ball, but the flat stick was giving me tremors.

Stats here (http://golfshot.com/rounds/detail/344-8190712-8191069).

Nice work Tourfit.+1. Great work TourFit. Congrats on winning your first Mt Lawley Sat morning comp. Winning is a great feeling, especially when it's been a while since the last win.

38 pts at The Vines - Lakes. Was equal 2nd in A grade when I looked. Should get the cap down to 5.2. Hope the form continues again tomorrow round Ellenbrook with the miners.

Shooting two 76's in a row makes you feel good :)

Shot 41 points today - in a ****ing non capped round (was meant to be, but apparently someone cracked it for some reason...)! Bugger.

4 ball best stabs. We shot 46 points, winning pair last time I checked had 52 :( still, good to keep it going capped or non capped. Other high point, another round without a 3 putt. Might have to start keeping track of the stats again to measure the improvement.

Ive generally always had 1 or 2, even on a good day. Will have to have a hit at Rocko sometime.

I've worked fairly hard on my putting. I've stopped agonizing over the ball. Check the line, walk up, get the grip, hit. The more time I spend, the more time I have to think about where else it should/could/will go. Offers open nuff anytime u like.

Stat tracking helps to a point. My swing today was terrible early on, but the confidence to get up and down made all the difference in today's score I had. It's hard to hit fwy/greens/ make putts all the time. But if the scrambling is on, it really makes up for it.

Had 81/74 today.

Hit the ball off the tee great all day.

Had 2 double bogeys ... including the first, a par 5, when I was only 160 out from the pin with my drive. Great way to start.

Non capped round. Dont stress. Only course in the state that will not handicap a 4bbb stableford event. ****ed. I had planned on putting in a 27/28 pointer. Low enough to put it out, high enough to be counted.

How can a 4bbb be capped? Don't all four hit a ball then you take the best? Or you take the best score on the hole?

Deliberate sandbagging, nice.

In normal circumstances, everyone plays and scores, but for the comp, the best score of each pair is used.

It's a normal round - play own ball etc.

Oh ok, that does seem odd not to cap.

Apparently someone/s told the club captain it was a shit idea and to drop it.

The captain, president etc are not popular ppl.

Been a long time between hits over18 holes for this golfer. Headed to Naracoorte today and put myself to the test. Par round all square on the front 9 but could not keep my game on track finished -5 after the back 9. Same problem as always at Naracoorte, went off the fairways and lost holes to having so many recovery shots. Out again tomorrow for 18 holes at the home track expecting to get a good score in on familiar ground.

Had a hit a Windaroo in the xmas bash today... 41 points / 75 off the bat, with 29 putts.

Strange round really, I played some terrible golf on a few holes but managed 4 birdies as well to get the ledger on my side. Interesting stat is 4 under for 9 GIR and +6 for the 9 greens I missed. Still a little bit of work todo.

It is looking like being a range rat and hitting the putting green as often as I can is starting to show results.

Good fun day. 65 gross, 59.25 nett. Can't remember what the winning group had. We left a few out there, lost count of how many we left within inches of dropping. Good day out there though.

Congrats TF, always nice to get a win under the belt! Shooting Nuff-man.

Had a hit at Secret Harbour today. Greens were very ordinary from coring and sanding and seemed quite odd when repairing pitchmarks, the grass seemed barely attached. I hope they haven't done anything terminal to them.

Played some solid golf. A couple of blowup holes (+9) as usual on the front on my way to a 52. Didn't have the blow ups on the back and had a 45. First time under a 100 for a while which was nice. Apart from the two bad holes I played bogey golf. Plenty of shots left out there with 37 putts.

4BBB at GL yesterday. Inches of rain, flooding, hail damage all less than 5 k from the course. We copped a 5 minute shower.

we teamed up beautifully for 23 points on the front, with 3's and wipes perfectly complementing each other.

Then on 10 I made a 4 and 3, and he rolled in a 3 and 4. We were away.

I ended up shooting 37 for the back for 79 off the stick, and we have 50 points in the 4 ball.

We had also

a) 3 schooners each before the round
b) 6 more cans each by the 9th
c) 3 more cans each when we refilled on the 14th.

It was a fair drink and the most fun I can remember on course in ages!
