Just picked up a pommie SAS/MI6 series Strike Back. It's pretty good, and is another one that Chris Ryan ( bravo 2 zero survivor and author ) has got involved with. It's had three seasons so far.

The thing I like about it is the far more realistic portrayal of military strategy as opposed to the usual Hollywood stuff.

Yeah I started watching it again. Saw the premiere of season 2 on 7 a while back then it faded into the 10:30 slot. So I'm watching season 1 and season 2 is on its way.

It is far more realistic. It's what draws me in to the series. You get bored of the Hollywood crap real quick.

You would have liked Ultimate Force as well, its a bit older and you get to see the real Chris Ryan in a couple of episodes (which is odd cos the other bloke Mcnab wont show his dial anywhere)

Starts off a little slow but builds up guys. The last 3 or 4 eps of season 1 are good but then it ends strangely.

Season 2 then gets a lot better.

My better half actually put in a complaint to Foxtel while we were watching the "Modern Family" marathon on New Years Day because the ad for this was shown literally every ad break for the 3-4 hours we watched. EVERY ad break. Followed by the Foxtel ad of the blonde doofusy looking bloke promoting what's new in 2013. You could set your watch to it.

Absolutely no word of a lie, EVERY ad break.

The quicker this show premieres and then ****s off into oblivion the better.

What I would love to see is have some company have the guts to do this. Clearly, come up with an outstanding show. Then run it one season only. Hit us hard, and finish it hard. But then cut and run. No dragging it out till we're sick of it. No wondering if it's gonna get another season or not. Just run and finish.

We're enjoying the following, and I think this is the kind of show that could do that. I think it would be a gutsy move.

I'll ask here. Is it me, or has the production quality of shows gone down from where it was a few years ago? Is it because there are so many more channels vying for shows, and spreading production money thinner? As an example, action sequences. To me, they just seemed better in shows like Alias, 24 and heck, even Buffy, than they do in many shows today. And I remember scenes with airliners in alias and 24 not looking so digital compared to what they did in Arrow, for instance. OK, I am probably a bit biased as the three old shows I mentioned are three of my all time favourites, but it just seems like things are going backwards, not forwards any more.

Saw the first episode of Breaking Bad, and I couldn't see anything in it. Maybe it's just me but I can't see myself hero worshipping a drug dealer

the charater evolution is brillant in BB. Absolutely. The way that Jade is trying to pounce on all of the blokes is great. Kruges looked pretty hot last night in her 80's gear too.
