I agree, and IMO Windaroo is almost back to the days when it hosted the QLD open in the 90's. The greens are pure at the moment, firm and hard and the fairway are in great knick. If the rain stays away for the next couple of days we are all in for fun day. We have had quite a bit today though, could cause some problems bunker wise.

i Golf is back and as the last spot is still availible i Golf will fill it.

He just got back from the range at Robina Woods were he hit it some where ranging from unnaceptable to that of a touring pro, but mostly just above acceptable. He'd hit 8 5 irons dead straight and the other 2 were well terrible. i Golf is not entirely happy with it at present but figures a round on a blind course will highlight deficiencies in his game, so book him in.

i golf will allow himself 6 bad shots tomorrow but would expect to play a sensational recovery shot to repair the damage, thats how he is hitting them at present, mark me down for 43out and 43in for an 86. With 2 balls in the drink.

Ben, the course is starting to get back to some seriously good condition. Fairways are schmick, and the management have just spent $300K putting cart paths in through the course. Once the grass has grown back to them, it'll be magnificent.
Bunkers are still an issue, but the work in those will depend on the rain this summer I guess.

Thanks everyone for coming out this morning. Was a pretty good morning for it, even if it was stinking hot.

I think the course handled the rain from the last week pretty well, and was in pretty good condition.

Nice to see some new faces out too...

Windy Poo was in great nick and the day remained dry, but Jezz it was a stinker! A very enjoyable, but very humid round. It was great watching Poppers short game and putting, the rest of the golf on our group was a bit average but the company was good. A nice steak and a cleansing (cooling) Ale in the club house finished off the day nicely. Thanks muchly for organising the day Timah!

You need to see Windaroo to appreciate how good a job they are doing there Ben. Windaroo is in heaps better condition now than GG every was and it gets better every time I play there. It is really only the remaining bunkers that need fixing, and they are gradually working their way through them. The new cart paths are great and the fairways and greens are great, way better than they were 3 years.

And for those that are after a membership, they still have the 12 months for $795 deal going which includes 12 rounds at Palm Meadows.

i Golf has never sweated so much in his life, and he was the only one driving a cart. Must have had a bug, 3 dunny stops on the way north in 45 minutes, not eating there again, christ.

i Golf identified some weaknesses in his game that need work and that was only after the first hole must hit balls before one gets onthe first tee? Took me 6 holes to get going dunno how ppl turn up and fire away without even swinging a club, i Golf can't do it.

I hit them alot better on the back nine after I got some food and fluids into me, I had 5 pars on the back 9 with just 1 double on the 18th after trying to drive the green which failed. I went back to my old swing after 9 holes why change what works even if it looks ridiculous. My theory is if your square at impact and in the correct position at impact and the balls goes out of sight what does it matter what happens before or after impact??

Looking forward to the next round.
