i tried clicking on the pic icon and uploading the pic. the pic would say it was uploading and then disappear.

I tried it through advanced too and still no luck

Could upload this via the "basic uploader" under the image button in the CMS, but every other method fails (see picture for error)

It might be an issue with attachments, as the setup had to change with the server move.

Can't you people just be happy that the site is faster now?

I tried again and got the error message too.

I was able to upload a small sized picture (<20k), but had an issue with a larger file. I'm looking into it.

It's been like that on Tapatalk for ages. Think I mentioned it a while ago.

How will your issue with Tapatalk get solved if you don't tell them about it?

I'm having dramas with this too. Trying to upload 2MB pictures wouldn't be to big would it?

I might need to put some overall attachment limitations in. The disk space that the attachments take up, is more than the whole forum database. Some people have 25MB worth of attachments.

i had no issues uploading a picture of my disgusting mo in the mofo's thread a few hours ago. 1.87mb from memory. Used the picture upload icon thingy.

Basic Uploader or Advanced?

haysey
23rd November 2011, 03:44 PM
I can't make either work. If I can figure out how to make them smaller I'll give that a try.

AndyP
23rd November 2011, 03:46 PM
Or you could host them on another site, and use the image URL option?

haysey
23rd November 2011, 03:54 PM
Good idea. I'll see if the iCloud thing I've got will work.

The attachment size limitations have been changed to what they were on the old server. So those that got a 'file too large' error, shouldn't get it anymore.

LeftyHoges, this probably won't fix your error, but can you check for me please, as I have never got it.

Could only do this via the basic uploader.

AndyP

Troublemaker.

Thanks. I've identified a few potential reasons for the issue, so I'll look into it some more.

Hmmm, that worked better. Looks like it could be a Google Chrome issue.

And Firefox.... (Basic Uploader again)

Seems that IE8 is the only browser I have that it works with, haven't tried with IE9.

AndyP

God help us if IE is the only one that works for you.

AndyP

Who else is getting this error message? And what browser are you using? It's hard for me to diagnose, when I don't get the error myself.

Lobsta
30th November 2011, 06:16 PM
I'm pretty sure mine were from firefox and I could upload using either uploader.

Maybe it's time for some of you to accept the fact that the Internet just seems to hate you and move on from there.

I'm giving up on this one. There doesn't seem to be a consistent solution to it and based on reports here, it's not a global problem.

Your workaround is to use the basic uploader. If that's not the case, let me know.
This restricts you to uploading one image at a time instead of multiple.

It went away and I don't know why. Double clicking the image will give you the options you need.
