Hey guys,
Sorry if this has already been raised, new to the site. My 3-wood is a Titleist 904f 15deg with adilda stiff shaft, and i hit this off the tee more often than not because it is beautiful to hit, and i comfortably hit it 230 - 250m.
My driver is a TaylorMade Superfast Burner 2.0, and I don't like it. What i don't like is how light and tinny it feels, as opposed to the solid sound and feel of my wood. I was wondering if anyone knows of a driver that has these characteristics?

Most titleists have a solid whack noise.....

the 910 has a slight clinck, but the 909 and 907 amd 905 series all sound super solid. All cheap too!

Yep, I have at least one of the above model drivers, ex the 907s and they feel very solid. I also have a matching 3 wood of each of the model series. If you like the feel of and look of the 904F, a 905 (R,T or S) is going to be a very close match. Still one of Titleist's best models. I have a 904F with an Aldila NV shaft and know what you mean about the solid feel and sound. Having said that, the 910F and Fd are just as solid, and for me longer, though that might be the shaft making the diff (Ahina). I find the 905R as long as any of the newer models, but the 909 and 910 are probably a little more accurate.

Yeah had a bit of a whack with the r11's, still prefer r9's though!
Might have to look into the Titleist drivers, thanks for the quick response too guys, appreciate it!

I had one of the 905's and it was a very solid driver, probably the longest driver I've ever had but certainly not the most forgiving. Went to the 907 next but was never really happy with it. The 907 always had that hollow 'big driver' feel and ting to it, plus I hit it far too high. I just bought an R11 this week and very happy with it so far, much more solid feeling and damn it's long!

Try and hit everything you can to find the right one for you mate, a good driver in the bag is such a confidence booster IMO.

Cheers

I would get your hands on a Callaway RAZR for a hit, the carbon construction gives it a real 'thud' instead of the 'doink' that you get off a lot of drivers.

Has anyone on this site tried changing a burner 2.0 shaft to a heavier aldila shaft? or not really worth trying?

I've tried one or two drivers. The latest TM drivers sound like crap for mine. They flatout perform, but I just can't stand the sound for more than a week.

Try a G20. It's a great stick and I've tried lots.

Agreed, just got an r11 with kai'li and it goes well but no matter where you hit it on the face it sounds/feels like crap.
