Hi there OzGolfers,

I'm relatively new to playing golf, and don't want to burden any serious players with my shit-ness and jump in on anybody's games just yet. But I was wondering if anybody would have the time/patience to go out for a round with me and give me some pointers, or even just put up with my attempted golfing if you don't fee up to give pointers?

I can perform all basic golf-like actions (i.e. hitting a ball, swearing at a ball, putting a ball, swearing at a ball some more) with some proficiency, so this isn't a 'teach me how to golf' session, more of a experience gaining session without the pressure of ruining somebody elses day as I think would happen if I was to jump in with another group's game. I have no idea what I would shoot, though I consistantly finish well under par on Tiger Woods PGA Tour on my iPad :) if that helps. The only game that I have played recently in real life was a game of Ambrose partnered my girlfriend and we finished on +5 after 9 holes out at Ipswich, a lot of which came off my stick alone.

I'm in Brisbane, so one of the Brisbane or surrounding area courses preferably, but would travel if required within reason. At the moment Mon 17-10-11 is open for me, or Tue 18-10-11 in the afternoon.

I will pay any mentors handsomely in beers or other refreshing beverages of your choice.

Put your name down for the Northlakes game in the Champs area of the forum. It's on Monday. If you are having a crappy hole, pick up, so you don't get too pissed off and neither do your fellow players.

Ok. I thought about that before posting but wasn't sure how serious a game you guys were having and whether I would be inconveniencing anybody with my awkward, golf-like movements.

Get on the Northlakes round as AP said.

After the weekend, we all be too stuffed to care anyway ;)

And seriousness is frowned upon in this forum, you have nothing to fear...

That's okay Lobby, most of us have awkward, 'non' golf-like movements and I suspect all the more so on the Monday round after champs... You'll fit in just fine; we all started out playing this game at one point or another and most of us are still trying to figure out just how to play the damn game:mrgreen:

Is Tuesday arvo too soon? I'll lend you a hairdryer if it helps the drying out process.

I have the last exam that stands between me and full registration as a pharmacist tuesday morning. So Tuesday arvo I will either be on a massive high and looking to celebrate, or depressed as **** and looking for something to stop me from making a local publican very wealthy.
