Two Ozgolf legends are having a playoff for the Nudgee Plate 2011 Major

no, sudden death is ghey. Lets do 18 hole playoff. you v me. bring it.

So first round of the champs, we will have to play together, otherwise its hard to get interested.
What happens if still tied? How about we just go back down the last hole 100m, and keep playing from till there is a winner. (they do that in those shootout events) With the crowd around that would be fun.

Go play with yourselves at Nudgee, rather than messing around with the champs draw.

Was there something wrong with joint winners? That's what the honour board will show.

I have a better idea. Let's have a poll and see who we prefer to be the winner :)

Flip a coin?

Hurry up and get the decider done at Nudgee...before the joint shuts down.
It's a crap course anyway. Luckily the state government will give us enough money to buy Twin Waters or build an entirely new course. The reality is that there is no reason to widen the Gateway, and it's a conspiracy by public servants who are detached from the public and reality, or something like that.

Was there something wrong with joint winners Yes. Was discussed and decided ages ago. It is too late to change it now.It is also great to see so much interest in the event. This is going to be bigger than the who spews first competition.

meh, I've gone cold on the idea. Joint winners is fine. And besides, I know that I really won on countback.

Boom, boom. If you close both eyes the land looks exactly like King Island.

Jarro

I would be nice but the land is a little plane over there.

I don't get it ?

jaybam

Wouldn't want it near the airport. Between the Japanese tourists and striking qantas workers you would never get a tee time

We'd be much handier to get first crack at the chinese forged irons coming in though :)

Crap I just paid my fees for next year!! Maybe it's time to join indro!

As for the Epic Playoff, pfffft BV won on count back so no need for a playoff. Congrats Vegas!

Blakey you are living in the past! Move on, let it go man!

It will be a difficult site to work with...it has a lot of baggage.

I hope these comments are terminal.

It will need a lot of time, effort and money before it takes off.

How will Nudgee prop it up? Could make for some interesting landing areas.

Blakey you are living in the past! Move on, let it go man!Let what go? I have no issue here and that is a silly thing to say. An 18 hole playoff was Dions idea, you read that plainly already. I really do not understand why you are having a go at me. I am just going through with the original agreement. if I knew it would get up peoples noses so much I would not have mentioned it

AndyP has already said it'll be recorded as joint winners. I'm cool with that.

I am happy to have an 18 hole playoff with you "for bragging rights" or for a scherbert or something. Just don't yabber on about nunchuk shafts for 5 hours is all i ask.... I wouldn't mind having a hit with sms and ptp too, to see how the good golfers play the course.

AndyP has already said it'll be recorded as joint winners. I'm cool with that. ?Andyp has contradicted himself then, because that is not what he said in the Plate thread.Anyway we do not have to play together i just thought it would be fun,so that aint a dealbreaker, i am not one to back out of a agreement. Just gobsmacked why this idea would get up anyone elses noses. Nobody whined about it when the deal was struck.

Hey you sensitive delicate little flower, don't take things to heart so much. The Ozgolf champs are about the ozgolf champs. If you really want to get this thing done, organize it some other time. Don't open up a thread about it in conjunction with the ozgolf champs and then cry when people dont care or share your enthusiasm about this proposed lame playoff.

AndyP
28th September 2011, 10:53 AM
AndyP has already said it'll be recorded as joint winners. I'm cool with that. I didn't recall that you had won on countback.

Blakey, I don't have photographic memory, so I can't recall what I said about an event that I didn't play in. My joint winners offer was in response to this thread and no other evidence.

markTHEblake
28th September 2011, 10:56 AM
Nudgee, it was Dions idea to have it at the champs. So direct your whining to him. If you dont care why spend so much time criticising?Andyp. Neither do I,that is why I would have looked up what you said before :-)

BrisVegas
28th September 2011, 10:58 AM
FFS, as I said, I don't care. I'm not playing again before the champs. Are you playing Hyatt Coolum blakey? We could have a hit there. Or we could just give it a miss altogether. I'm not bothered at all.

this.

AndyP

Countbacks don't matter for POTY, but it would for the Honour Board. It would use the same countback as the official comp.This.

markTHEblake
28th September 2011, 11:06 AM
If we go by exactly what you 'ruled' right there Andyp, then I won the countback. Gosh, can you imagine the whining then. note, i do not agree with your ruling though.

AndyP
28th September 2011, 11:08 AM
I'm sure we have used countback on a major before.

Blakey, Blakey, don't get so worked up, I still likes ya!!?Likewise. then you should get behind this little sub-plot and cheer on vegas to kick my arse. That is what you want right? Which raises another question. If the ozgolf champs are tied,,is the decision on how to decide the tie going to be made after and cause more tears?

AndyP
28th September 2011, 11:45 AM
Ha! I was thinking the same thing today. We are lucky that it hasn't been a tie yet. Playoff isn't an option, so joint winners or countback on last 18, last 9, etc, and only if they put money on the bar.

As long as you agree that our "last 9" may not be the back 9 of the golf course.... That was the issue at Nudgee.

AndyP
28th September 2011, 12:55 PM
As long as you agree that our "last 9" may not be the back 9 of the golf course.... That was the issue at Nudgee.Errrrr.
You played in a comp that would have used "back 9" as countback. I would have thought that we would apply the same.

I'm not usually one to add commonsense into an argument but surely the countback system rules.
You work out who had the best score on the last nine holes.
In the Champs I would think the same applies even over a 36 hole event.
We're all hitting off the same tees aren't we ?
It would go to the last 18 first for a 36 hole eve

As long as you agree that our "last 9" may not be the back 9 of the golf course.... That was the issue at Nudgee.

That was the issue. And without someone making the ruling before the event is played it is not right to decide how after.

Imagine if we tied for the overall event at Nudgee, would seem silly to contradict what the host tournament ruleing is

Hence with a playoff there is no storm in a teacup. As you said 'bring it on'
