Goodbye Dad.

This evening my father passed away.

He has spent the last 2 weeks in Robina Hospital, the last week in the Palative Care unit. I can't say enough about how well set up and helpful they are there. They have counselors and social workers to help relatives. They have been helpful in explaining things to the kids.

The rooms open onto a lovely courtyard. The whole set up is to make the last days as comfortable as possible. On Wednesday he was still communicating, although he tired quickly. The kids got to say goodbye. We were down there yesterday as well, but he was not as responsive, although he did hug back. We stayed home today and were planning on heading down there agan tomorrow.

This evening my 2 sisters and one of my brothers were there in the room, telling stories when he did stop breathing.

We'll all miss you dad.
