He was on The Golf Show a few months back. I reckon he gets a bad wrap generally. Seems like a nice enough guy who isn't full of himself. At least he isn't in the paper for all of the wrong reasons like a few others.

Wasn't he considered one of the gun juniors when growing up?

He has been down to scratch before and apparently is pretty close to getting back there again. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

I was standing beside him at the Australian Open last year. He was following around a group just like everyone else. ... until he was recognised & then all of a sudden hangers on wanted to be his best mate & talk football.

Yeah Titty was telling me whilst we were playing St Micks a few months ago. Supposedly his management is trying to get him a few sponsor invites for the summer and will be giving it a red hot go in his retirement.

He should definately do a lot better than Fatty Vautin did in the NSW PGA. To be off scratch around St Michael's means he's got game.

That course can have bruital winds blowing, especially with the holes that run alongside the cliff faces. And that comes from my experiences playing junior pennants/Eric Apperly games there.

Actually, it appears Braith is quite talented in a lot of aspects.

My cousin also knows a taxi driver that plays at St Michaels off low numbers. I believe his first name is Alf.

Nah not quite. This guy worked crazy taxi shifts in Sydney, but sometimes got my cousin Craig onto St Michaels through the week. How he plays off such a low handicap doing all those crazy shifts is unreal.

An interesting experiment. I hope he makes the cut.

Give him a break.
Im no fan of his, but it would be pretty tough and daunting teeing it up against the Pro's.
Bet if you asked MT, or SMS or a few 1,2 markers on here that have played in any Pro-Ams that they would feel a tad nervous when they played with the Pro's.
Hell, ive played in 3 Womens Pro-Ams at St Micks with some lesser known womens Pro's and been nervous as hell!!!!!
Just my 2 cents!

Its been a while myself, since I have played these things. Im sure I would be a bit anxious.

I can see why they have Anasta in the field, but I can't help but think about the young guys coming through and how they would have benefitted from the experience.

Lets be honest +8 around Wollongong is very ordinary. I imagine at least -20 is going to win the thing.

No doubt it was a great marketing idea. How much coverage would the NSW PGA have gotten without the novelty factor? This thread itself shows it worked. He's increased interest which may well have made it easier to gain a sponsor or two. Win-win for everyone.

I find it odd that amateurs are eligible though. Not unheard of, but just odd.

He has been trying to get a game in the off season for ages, he tried to play in the event when it was at Macquarie Links. I remember him playing out at Macarthur Grange (Mac Grange were Bulldogs and Roosters Sponsors) with the other Bulldogs in the off seasons when he was there. The Bulldogs would not allow it and I think this off season is his first for a long time that he is not having off season surgery. The Roosters are not starting training until next week so it fitted in with their plans.
