Looks like the family is heading for the QLD/NSW border in late Oct, staying at Kingscliff.

Anyone know of the closest course, and who might be available for a hit.

I don't know the area, but Cool-Tweed, where golfer69 is a member, shouldn't be too far away.

I can't predict my availability for that period, but I'll have a hit with you if I'm free.

You should have a crack at Murwillumbah it is the best around here for the price.

As the other guys have said Coolangatta Tweed is great - it has two golf courses so you should be able to get on one, and maybe in a comp aswell. Murwullimba is also a nice track. They'd have to be the best two without travelling more than 30 mins.

Cooly Tweed is always in great condition. , but I'd go for Murwillumbah, good value for money and a good challenging course.

How far is it from Kingscliff Kpac?

40 minutes.

Murwillumbah is about 20 minutes and has a back marker event usually on the first Friday of the month if your keen on those.
Could be free around that time for a game.

The International Rules match is on while you are up here, Chappy.

Whatever you decide on for venue or date, I'll pencil into my calendar to see if I can make it.

Thanks AP, I'm happy to travel a little to include a few others. I know it's a bit of a trip to come down from Brissy

I have a 50% off voucher for Royal Pines, I will have use of a car. Should I venture up there?

How long will it take me to get there from Kingscliff, can I hire clubs (will probably have too much stuff with me, wifeeee and 3 kids luggage), anyone available/interested in a hit?

About half an hour to Royal Pines. Worth the effort at half price.

They do hire clubs according to the website;

Sorry Chappy, I'd like to, but I'm only two weeks into work. I was hoping that others would put their hand up, so a game would be organised, then I'd look to get the day off closer to it. From the look of things, I don't think I'm much chance of getting a day off anyway.

No problems Andy, completely understand. How is the new gig going anyhow?

AndyP
27th October 2011, 03:45 PM
Meh! ;)

I've been thrown in the deep end a bit, just as things are really busy, but I suppose it's better than all that time at home. It's a temporary gig, so when I've settled in, I need to keep looking for something more permanent.

Chappy, if you are keen for a hit on the weekend I'm sure we could round up a few players for you. I'll check with GC to play at Cooly Tweed on 5 or 6 Nov or Mur'bah so it's at least a little closer to Kingscliff. Otherwise we can play Lakelands for $50.00 or I should be able to you on RP for cheaper than your 50% off...

Crap, just wrote this and realised I have my son that weekend so perhaps Lakies on Sunday afternoon?

Looks like it will be RP for me as I've just had a proper look at the RACV gear I got with the membership and it's actually a frebie rather than half price.

Will need to hire clubs too

Chappy, perhaps swing by Lakelands after your round to say hi...
