Need some advice on practice

I working on a new swing and instead of using my normal clubs i'm using a taylormade 6 iron blade with plastic balls while i'm getting used to the new swing. Is that ok?

Just be careful when your grandmother is doing the garden while you are hitting plastic balls over the house. If you knife one into the back if her head she might think it was a real golf ball and it could take 5 mins to calm her down.
