It is cheating.

Damn, a cheat just won the PGA. Grow up boys, whilst ever it's legal.... it's legal.

I didn't stick with it. Direction control was great but I struggled with distance control. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time.

I found the same, just couldn't get used to it. The jumbo grip ended up being a much better solution for me.

I had a sternum putter for a while and as above the direction was great but outside six to eight feet was bloody terrible.

Slightly off topic but our club pro was saying on the weekend that Scott's putting stats have not actually improved since swapping and it is only a perception.

Anyone got access to stats to prove/disprove this?

I don't know how a move up the putting ranking can be considered perception. An improvement is an improvement

I have one in transit atm so will be interested to see how it plays.

I was considering it. Went back to the tri ball Odyssey instead, seems to be working so far.

I am considering getting one of those belly conversion kits and doing it to a spare 2ball putter I have....

Not really what I was asking though, I was hoping someone might have access to his putting stats before and after the swap.

Seems he's putting better from inside 15 feet, outside of that not so.

I've had a belly for a long time, never found much use for it except resting beers on it sitting on the couch

I have always used one to help me maintain my eating stats.
As to golf, perception is a major component.

I got one of these and put it on my odyssey two ball putter. Im making a lot more putts with it (knock on wood!). And I havent experienced any distance control problems - probably helped me in that department actually. So its worked for me thus far. And the attachment only cost me about $55pp off ebay.

Got one on the way, a Ping Zing 2 that is the right length. Also got a centre shafted white spider that might get extended.

Aren't belly putter heads heavier than normal putter heads?

Got my Bobby Grace belly M7.5K V-Foil from Ducky which arrived in the mail today. Rolled it a few times in the lounge and am impressed with what I've seen. Also a huge fan of the whole putter. It's a great looking club with a lot of attention to detail. Will take it out to the practice green soon for some testing :)

Yeah according to Maltby they should be around 460 gms

Ditto; great fm ten foot, not so good on distance control. Out of the bag at the moment as my current job does not allow me sufficient time for any serious practice. Once I have time or get desperate again will give it another crack and really work on distance control with it. If o can nail that it could be a permanent change

Yeah, I put a few strips of lead tape in the cavity of the two ball. Seems to work well.

I go back and forth. I mainly use the belly putter as a training aid but every now and then I'll play a few games with it. I find it best in the 2-5m range. For very short and very long putts I still prefer a short putter.

I lent mine to TWM about a year ago as he was having fits with the putter. His putting was greatly improved with it. He has just bought a broomstick putter and finally given the belly back to me. So far the broomy isn't working too well but I expect it will take a little while to get the feel for it.

Must have a 'Phil spec' one-off double bend shaft to fit around his fat gut then!

I got a belly putter and a long putter. The belly putter is great to be used as a training aid on/off while using the short putter, the broomstick is great all the time!

aussieashley

The putter is probably standard length, it's just that Phil's belly touches it :)

Watching the BMW, there seems to be more and more belly's being used all the time. I haven't had time for any PGA action for a few weeks but damn, there are a lot of belly putters out there!

Well 2 rounds with the belly and I really like it, mine is a white centreshafted spider extended to 37 inches and it felt very comfortable straight away.Still getting used to it but I'm making some nice putts. Can't see it leaving the bag anytime soon.
