Any merit in discussing a rebel matchplay competition which has a cash entry fee?

Who's running it. Stick to the set out conditions and deadlines and I'm in.

Sure.
$10 buy in, $10 re-buy in after first round only.
One scheduled Ozgolf day a month to play matches. Pre picked set of courses to play.
Depending on numbers depends on how many months each 'round' has to be completed.
Winner = 60%
Runner up = 25%
Third = 15%
Biggest drubbing = $10 back.

Why a rebel matchplay. Just do it,The Ozgolf Matchplay is not owned by anyone, whoever volunteers to run it sets the rules.

Build it and they will come - and if they don't it's an epic fail, and forgotten pretty quick. There no point just spiting ideas though - we're doing that already, there needs to be something set out.

Any interest in re-jigging the format?
I'd be happy to organise if there was, and if Andy was happy to pass it on...

I won't be organising next year, although there aren't a lot of posts indicating interest above.

Yeah I would give it a go i like the idea of a buy in. Makes sure matches are played.

If you think that $ alone and "matchplay weekends" will fix the problem, i think we'll have the same result.

Unless there's a precedences/rule for who concedes if the match doesn't happen - we will be no better off. There will always be games that can not occur for a plethora of reasons stemming from the demands of life. I'd be keen on a matchplay re-vamp. But i'd like to see the rules spelt out for how matches are to be organised/arranged before i get involved.
