Not too bad, reasonably solid and hopefully puts the shambles of a weekend behind me:

81 / 72 for 36pts

FIR 10
GIR 7
Par 10
Bogey 7
Double 1
Putts 31

Putting and chipping were very solid today... not a single thee putt (Yippee)

First game since Origin 3 after well documented issues at home.

34 points. Hit it ok, but distance control was out all day. Was hitting it a club long quite a lot. Hit it into one of the newly refilled bunkers at Pelican and it was ****ing terrible. Went from having a buner shot which I would have got up and down for birdie 3/4 of the time to having 3 swipes to get out. Way to turn a birdie into a double.

Single Stab at Reddie Bay today. I ended up with 35 points, which whilst not great was pretty good considering I had only 5 points after 5 holes, and that included a birdie!. 5 times I was dead up against a tree or tree root, damn you Tree God!

16 - 19 = 35

7/18 GIR
8/14 FIR
33 Putts

2 birds
8 pars
1 bogey
5 doubles
1 triple

Played the back nine first, hit 5 of 7 fairways and had 12 points.
Front nine i hit 7 of 7 fairways and had 20 points and wiped 1 hole which i had a shot on.
Driver worked great, might be keeper!

I played in a Pro Am at Reddie Bay today, it was the first round of the Qld Senior PGA Championship. One of the Pros in our group (Jim Lapsley, an NZ'der) is in the equal lead after a great 67.

I managed to play some of the most consistent golf I have for a while and finished with 45 points to run away with the amateur comp. I also achieved one of my goals of playing a round with nothing worse than a 5 on the card.

23 - 22 = 45 (77 Gross, 5 over)

8/18 GIR
12/14 FIR
30 putts

1 bird
12 pars
4 bogeys

New AP2 710 irons in the post yesterday, could not escape work commitments until 2 pm to give them a workout. Played the front 9 with irons only for a 44 offthe stick 4 pars, 2 bogies and 3 dbl bogies. Th DG R300 shafts are a definite improvement from S300 in my game. The putter was off inthe first 3 holes after playing on scrapes last weekend (my excuse lol) added a couple of strokes to the score. Strong winds on the track as well and hitting #3 Iron off the tee best was a 165m into the wind. Monthly Medal Sunday should be tuned up for a crack by then.

Cheers Face.

I hadn't made birdie for a few rounds and then made two in a row. I had several more chances that just missed after that and was upset with each one. I thought I should have been making everything within 20 feet! :)

Nice shootin' Daves!

Scoring PPPPBBBDB BBPPDBPPD

Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20110812-p67.html): 41-42-83 stab 17-16-33pts (Par 35-35-70 ACR 69)

H/cap Change: +0.4 to 9.9. FFS.

I feel like I'm another step closer to getting my form back. I felt really confident over the ball at the start of the round, but somewhere along the way the irons turned ordinary again and only came back during the round in patches. I put the ball in too many bunkers to give myself a chance of saving some shots, as my chipping is going well at the moment and I could have got up and down.

The driver was solid after a dodgy practice round yesterday, but I didn't sink any decent length putts. Lots of places to shave strokes off the score, doing it is another thing.

Next round: 4 person ambrose with Oxy at Wolston Park next Saturday.

Game seems to be heading in roughly the right direction trying to do what the pro told me.

Out in 49 with a quad and a triple, 3 pars and a grab bag of double and single bogeys. Came back in 44, 3 pars and nothing worse than a double for a 93. A bit loose off the tee and struggled to hole anything over 3-4' with the putter which was a shame as I chipped pretty well and was inside 6-10 feet for a lot of 2 putts. Promising signs at any rate as my first 9 after the lesson was a 59. Nuffie gave me a couple of pointers the other day and it seemed to eliminate the fat shot I was battling.

Had a look at the sheet yesterday and found out that i am only one shot behind in the A grade nett and coming 10th in gross overall.
The guy who is winning is leading by 14 shots at 4 under.
A good round on Saturday may put me in the top 8 for the last round?
