With Vegas' thread on golf being a sport, got me thinking (and yes it did hurt) what is the toughest sport out there.
After staying up and watching the Tour De France last night,i really don't think there are many other sports out there that would rival the fitness of these guys.
Having flat stages around 220 - 240 kms, around 4 to 5 hours riding and mountain stages around 160-190 kms with climbs anywhere from 10 to 25 kms, which can take 50 minutes.
And they do this for 3 weeks and cover around 4000kms in the process.
A close second would have to be the Ironman triathletes, for their 4.2kms swim,180km ride and 42km run taking around 8 to 9 hours for the elite in the sport.
Now these are real sports :?
