What's the best excuse/reason you've heard or used for damage to Clubs ?

Another thread started by NK, without any opinion given by himself.

I'm sure there is some back story behind this trolling, as usual, but it's lost on me.

One of my mates told me his 7 iron was broken because he was throwing it up a tree trying to dislodge the 5 iron he threw into the tree that got stuck  It seemed to teach him a lesson though as I haven't seen a club toss from him since.

I once backed over my golf bag in my driveway. I damaged my persimmon driver...

I broke a shaft of a club that was in my bag when I whacked the bag with another club.

I hit massive pop sky's when I try and hit massive cuts.

That's my excuse!

Tiger ham said he must have broke his driver taking the clubs out of the boot. Further investigation revealed he tripled the hole prior to the discovery and hit his bag with his putter. He admitted that may have been partly responsible for it, but still insisted the boot had something to do with it.

He also broke two wedges "on purpose" because they needed reshafting.

Didn't Rubes blame a skymark on his brother too? Who's next, grandma?

That's was a baby little sky mark, only looked bad cause of the paint the range puts on the balls.

I dont lend clubs anymore.

I tried to hit a cover drive on the half volley and snapped my driver shaft.

When I was a teenager, I "accidentally" tripped up some stairs and broke the driver shaft. It was in actual fact deliberate cause I wanted a new driver, and I wanted the folks to pay for it....... Didn't happen. :(

I threw a ball up and hit it with my putter which caused the head to snap off, go shy hign and land only cm's from my playing partner. I had to putt out the rest of Junior Champs with an iron.

Haven't done it since. In fact, I no longer lose my shit on the course. It's not worth looking like a knob.
