This is a follow on I think from KristianJ's post about a handy gadget for guys who carry their golf bags.

http://www.clubmaxxgolf.com.au/sandmann.html

Presently they are out of stock but depending on numbers (including postage to my part of the country), they would sell for $28-$30 per item.

I am looking at getting one, anyone else interested.

Why don't you just use your playing partners bucket ?

Why don't you share a cart with Mike. Then you can carry sand buckets.

I've always thought they were a good idea for a carry bag and I'd get one, but I wouldn't pay more than $10.

+1 always seemed to fall off the clip and in the end it was a blessing when I lost it mid round.

I've changed my mind then.

I use one and love it. The only time it falls off is when I run with my bag on.

Yeah, I've got one. Heaps easier than carrying a bucket. I got it a few years ago for $10 from Redland Bay pro shop.

I just cut in and carry a bucket.
Works fine.

I don't fill in divots, slows down speed of play.

Doesn't hold much sand. It kept falling off my bag.

I just carry a bucket with me, even though I don't take divots most of the time.

Made my own out of a section of plastic drain pipe and two end caps.

I've had mine for years and use it all the time. When the clip on the bag breaks (and it will) you will need to improvise and make one using some nuts & a bolt. The clip breaks when you forget to take the container off the bag before you throw it in the boot of the car.

But you would need 2 to fill in some of your divots.

I'm working on that situation.

This for me too.

When I carry these days I've got a carabiner clip on my bag that I hang a sand bucket off.

Although the Sandmann appears to have a legitimate use, it's shape strangely reminds me of a potential secondary use. :D

When you see your playing partner wander off into the bush for a slash, do you ever think "I'm going to have to shake his hand at the end of the round"?

Johnny Canuck
5th July 2011, 02:55 PM
I clean my hands on my playing partner's towel shortly thereafter.

I don't know how many times I see PGA players take their hat off, then run their hand through their sweaty hair before outstretching it to shake their playing partner's hand. Ewww.

I have one you can have for postage NK. I used it and thought it was fine. You need to work out where to hang it so it doesn't fall off. Does not carry enough sand to bury a ball though.

Pete, if NK doesn't grab it, I'll grab it off ya.
