View Full Version : Question Ozgolf Merch

Has the idea of stocking and selling Ozgolf Merchandise been tossed around?

Is there a merchandiser in our midst who could organise Shirts, Caps, Bucket Hats, Towels, Umbrella's with the Ozgolf logo?

Could be enough of a money spinner to keep the site 'financial'??

You mean like a group buy?

You mean like a group buy?

More like 'Ozgolf holding stock of logo'd gear and if I want to buy something I can buy it from Ozgolf and profits go back to Ozgolf.

I know mate. It's a dig at my own hopeless ability to have a group but that doesn't have a sour end (no homo). :)

AndyP

It would probably be too hard to hold onto too much stock as I wouldn't be confident in getting the right split of XXL and XXXL shirts required.

Not to mention the endless debate over colours.

I can't see me holding stock, like oscar suggests, but I had certainly planned to get a shirt and hat order going this year before the Champs.

FWIW I believe there should be limited options for shirts, say two or three, otherwise it wouldn't really be identified as an OZgolf shirt.

As some of you will know, I'm in the promo game.

Just let me know what you want, and I'll get a price for it.

I wont hold stock though ... should be a group order.

I can get towels, shirts, caps (yes - even fitted caps), umbrellas .. all kinds of stuff.

I wouldn't want to chose the shirt or shirts on my own though ... so if someone wants to put their hand up, I can take them to a couple of my suppliers and show them some of whats available.

The shirts and caps that prmeier supplied were very nice and probably a good start on which to base anything new.

If that was the first set of Ozgolf shirts that we got, these are from Be Seen clothing, and are model BSP15.
http://www.beseenclothing.com/09ws/prodview.asp?n=BSP15

They can be purchased for around $18.00 inc GST from one of the distributors. Not sure which one but if you google Be Seen then there are several AU websites where you can get them., and some do not have minimum quantities.

The Boz also uses this brand/model for his Vision shirts for a long time now as he is very happy with them. I have about half a dozen myself, and yes they are indeed a good shirt.

Marto65
24th June 2011, 05:38 AM
Be Seen are another supplier of mine Blakey. Does the $18 include embroidery? Probably not. Doesn't include anything for OzGolf either.

We should be charging between $30 and $35 for these shirts - embroidered. That would give OzGolf between $7-$12 profit.

That price would not include freight.

At the very least could we get a better logo. The plain script on the ones from ned (not having a go NK, thanks for organising them), is a little dull. Even if it's just plain script on a contrasting circle, for example, I think it would stand out a little more.

To do that would probably up the embroidery costs by a couple of bucks, but I'm happy to do it.

I wasn't really looking at doing the shirt run so early, but it can't hurt discussing it.

I like the BeSeen shirts. The ones I have are 6 years old, I think. They have been worn plenty of times and don't even have too much fading. I think jarro has only just thrown one of his out. They wear very well, and are made of a cool, comfortable material.

Looking at colours, the White Emerald Black (http://www.beseenclothing.com/09ws/prodview.asp?clb=466&n=BSP15) and Emerald Black White (http://www.beseenclothing.com/09ws/prodview.asp?clb=467&n=BSP15) immediately stand out to me as OZgolf shirts. FWIW the old shirts we had were the Navy with the Sky, Red or Grey, as well as the White and Grey, I believe.

we need to have the option of different coloured embroidery for different coloured shirts.

The orange on blue looks fine to me ... .whereas the orange on white looks a little ordinary (IMO)

would this be an option Marto ??

Well .. we could go on and discuss this for ages ... or we could make a decision.

Andy ... you need to set the price based on my figures before for Ozgolf Profits. And pick one of the Be Seen shirts (colours).

I reckon we go for the Navy/White in the Fashionbiz range too ...

Shazza (and any other females).. you can get both shirts in Ladies sizes and styles.

At least we could then start to get an order together. I'd be in for an XL in the Navy/White.

Fake adidas stripes don't do it for me either.

Why not just a simple one-colour number?

I suppose there isn't really much of a need for a mass run of stickers is there ?

Why not get Courty to design a nice sticker and doing a proper job of it, if he has time, instead of making some up for just a few?

Maybe a snappy motto too.
"when I'm not at golf, I'm at OZgolf.net" is probably too big for a sticker, but I'm sure we could think of something if we think we need one.

This shirt is white/maroon with gold piping. It was a custom made shirt for Pennant last year, so was a bit expensive, No idea how much, am waiting for a call back from the supplier to get a price again, because we have 10 left, so would like to get the same.

I know BeSeen have a similar White/Maroon/Black in the BSP15 which might do but its not quite the same. If you know if you can supply same or similar, we might talk, we would be up for at 50-60 shirts pa for our mens/kids teams and I have no idea how many women play for us. A critical factor is the ability to get kids sizes, as we have some midgets that seem to reduce the handicap faster than they grow. 3Ft tall is the smallest one. :-) and that is one plus for the BSP15, as well as they seem to keep that range consistent. note: if that becomes our preferred choice I already have an option for someone to supply as that shirt under a part sponsorship arrangment, so i am looking to you to see if you can get something very close to that picture.

A shirt has been chosen and knocked back by the supplier for practical reasons and another one selected. Marto is doing up a sample for me.

We are going with only one style and colour of shirt, as the whole point of a team/corporate shirt is to look the same. That said, there will be different colours and styles for following years.

A couple of thoughts for the future:
1. Putter Cover - Golfwrx seems to do well out of selling these, although you would want a nice design on it. Also a slightly more expensive option.
2. Small cloth patch with Ozgolf logo, similar size to these:
http://rockettour.com/products/All-Patches.html
and you can then stick it on rocket tour headcovers, other velcro headcovers, sew on bags, caps etc. This should be cheap.
