I never bought/used any of the following:

R7 driver / Moveable weight technology
Interchangable head and shaft drivers
Square headed drivers
2 ball putter

but I did use a yellow Vision ball in the comp once. Yours?

Johnny Canuck
17th June 2011, 09:43 PM
Had an R7 but never adjusted anything. Only got it because the driver was nice.

Have an imix but never changed the shaft and never intended to.

Had a square Adams, awesome driver. It actually restored confidence in my driving game that was missing for 2 years.

Drank the 9015d kool aid.

Still have a 2ball CS that doesn't get used.

Have yellow Srixons but only use them when it's getting dark.

Bought an Ogio. Sucked.

Never used a brush tee.

Never intentionally NCR'd, seems to be a fad with K Bay members.

Drinking 910 kool aid tomorrow.

Johnny Canuck

It is still a solid stick. When I tried it out a month or so ago, I hit a shot that looked picture perfect in terms of flight and trajectory. I was saddened to find it was shorter than the other drivers I was putting it up against.

Went to great effort to try the 21AD irons back in the day and they were terrible.

Had a couple of adjustable drivers but didn't actually buy them for adjustability.

Had one square driver and it was a rocket launcher but wasn't doing my own club work at the time and couldn't dial it in.

Tried the Diawa Whosker graphite in a driver very early on and it was awesome.

Got onto the SM wedges and haven't looked back.

A lot of hybrids are offset so they do tend to be hook machines. There are plenty of hybrids around with no offset that the better golfers would prefer to use.

I can think of a few component brands that meet this market, dont know about the Popular brands i think they are usually geared to making choppers happy.

Once in par, once in stableford. Both allow wipes, so technically, you've still got a little work to do. You can't convert par rounds to stroke and you can only do stableford if you had zero wipes.

The white head stands out more, so you can discern the club head path more readily. That may help.

fell for

weights in putters.....tried it...found it did nutt'in....reckon its rubbish
longer driver shaft = more distance, tried it more off centre hits = less distance if you averaged it out

didnt fall for

weights in drivers, personally think most of its very gimmicky
loads of range pratcice to get better, instead I work more on short game practice is the way to go

I finally succumbed to the lure of the Scotty Cameron putter.
Bought a 'California' off Titleist a few months back. Putting the best I ever have.
