Just thinking about getting a non-golf event with families together for lunch on a Sunday.

As a few of us have kids of varying ages, thought that I would explore the idea of meeting up for a social during the festive period. Could even do a Santa thing if the are no religious objections or other. Obviously open to those without kids too.

Choose a venue that is central like Kings Park or another location. Happy to host it at my place which has a reasonably large playing area. Large enough to play cricket or Footy, kids can bring their bikes etc. If available, even the Vines - has kidies and adult pools, barbecue facilities and can book the tennis courts for a couple of hours.

Each family to bring a plate or barbecue and so on... event will probably last 3 hours or so.

Set some ground rules about the extent of golf hoing so no one gets in trouble...

Not many of us live this side of town, but a great option nonetheless. Lots of things to do with the kids and easy to reserve a spot.

Put Golfnut in pencil.

Very light pencil for 'Nut.

This could get awkward for The Moose though, couldn't it?

Yeah, coz there's less licensed clubs in WA - means I don't get asked to show my driver's licence much these days 8-).

Just list your name and number of children (age) or pm me. I can collate. Will pick a date by July month end and location. Put in date and location ideas. Remember, the event will only be around 2 to 3 hours around a lunch, so it won't be too much of an imposte on the family and the whole day. Timing could be 10.30am or 11.30am to 12.30 or 1.30pm commitment at the least.

We'd definitely need some behaviour guidance as there will be women and children present.

Bring them along. If it is Whiteman park, its a good tourist spot with Caversham, Swan Valley etc

If we do the Santa thing, V4 could be the man and arrive on his cool motorbike

Why, my son's not 10 yet, I don't need to worry...that is unless canuck has changed his age preference.

I have commitment issues. :)

I am thinking that Whiteman park would be way too hot at that time of year though.

Understand the commitment issues.
Some shade around and there is a pool. I'm not fussed either.

If I am in town I would show up for a free feed in exchange for playing Santa.

That could be arranged...what does Santa eat? Milk and cookies?

Can be done, just need a date to ensure the members' isn't double booked.

This Santa is more partial to things like Wagyu beef and fascinating red wine.
