Played Mareeba again today, single stab.

Did the walking and carrying thing, front nine had 16 points, but had 19 points on the back nine.

Tinkered with the settings on the SuperDeep after yesterdays round and got even better shots then yesterday.

Regrip of crubs this week and I may even tee up for Club Champs.

Putting is still %$#$%!

Yeah, thats why I used to putt with a wedge and did it better, but that was seen as sandbagging as well.

How many sets of crubs have you tried, and which day are you booked to play golf again ?????????

Was it Wednesday at Bribie and Tuesday at Virginia or was it the other way around ?

Played Wantima Single Stableford today and first round on home course with the Nunchuk, this thing is a beast, some of the drives I hit today were massively long, 3rd hole for anyone that knows Wantima I was up the hill and inline with the start of the left hand fairway bunker, slight tale win but that would be 300 metres and was a good 30-40 past playing partners.

Anyway ended up winning comp today with 80 off the stick and 43 Points, with a 3 x 3 putts my putting is disgusting at the moment.

Stats of the round here (http://golfshot.com/Rounds/Detail/164-5240311-5240488)

Last game today before Nudgee plate, so hopefully I can play similar golf.

Windaroo today - Single stab.

37 points.

Drove terribly, putted ok but am still putting too many across the edges.
3 wipes really hurt, as 43pts won the day.

I am at least feeling like i'm leaving shots out there, as opposed to being happy to play to h'cap. It's showing that i'm improving and that I know it.
Birdie on the par 3 7th was the highlight of my round.

Next round, Nudgee Plate!

I was clearly the only Sydneysider silly enough to venture out in today's woeful weather. After six holes I was thinking of pulling the pin, and after two near unplayable lies in separate bunkers on the next I was 5 down, wet, cold and not caring at all. Then the weather cleared up a bit, and my partner was going Ok, so I kept going.

35 points was the final washup, after a really good second nine. I'm also prepared to be called a cheat at the club, as I did the one thing that guarantees that type of name-calling. We were the last group of the comp, after two groups behind us both pulled the pin. On the superpin hole I hit it to 93cm to win the jackpot. AND THEN MISSED THE PUTT after it started pouring with rain again. So anyone who looks at the card will ask questions.

Despite the rain and cold, I actually played pretty good today.

Don't normally report on 9 hole chook runs, but this one was worth it.

22 pts this arve with Tomson. Started with 3 straight pars, then a double (from themiddle of the fairway ) on the index 1 4th hole, then came home with 5 straight 3 pointers to be even par 35 for the 9. 8)

Now that I've shot that score I'm a shoe-in to shoot a thousand in the 2nd round of our Club Champs in the morning.

Played at Reddy on Wednesday morning. 39 points (19/20). Hit every fairway (effective) on the front nine 9, which I've never done before. But couldn't hit my short irons. Back nine, I missed a few fairways, but hit my irons better. Pretty happy with it though, as I know I could've scored a lot better. Hopefully I can keep the driver going for the Plate.

It was inevitable... I hit the range early and was feeling confident with the way I was hitting them. However, unplayable on the 3rd, lost tee shot on the 7th, ball in the piss on 8, ball in the piss on 12 and another ball lost in the hazard on 16 (my nemesis). Take away those 5 penalties and I'm only 1 over handicap.
4 over for 14 holes, and 10 over for the other 4.

34 points around Pelican today to finish a point behind the winner (lost c/b for r/u). Picked up a NTP on 11 after killing a 3 iron  to a couple of feet.

Qualifying for match play today.

Didn't start well with a triple double bogie bogie start out in 46. I wanted to play the second nine better quad on 1 from the fairway . Bogie 3 putt on 9 for 41.

Nett 74 with only the top 36 making it I don't like the chances there were 20 scores better in the morning field.

Had a wander and a hit around Victoria yesterday which was nicer than going to work. Didn't keep a card.

37 points at Cape Schanck today with SGA. Finally shot something starting with an 8 instead of a 9. Best day with the putter in ages but so it should be with greens as pure and true as were presented today. I reckon they might have a new greenkeeper in the last year or so as the greens are always superb and the pinning makes for good tests.

12 GIR

I was focussing on the negatives I suppose. I missed the green on 1,5,6,16,18 from the fairway or first cut. Irons were a bit "off". Probably because I cleaned them last night...

Happy with the round though. The last few games have been pretty scratchy, so nice to beat the handicap again. Next Sat monthly medal at Brooky should bring me back down to earth again!

89/75 (par is 73). First time I've been in the 80's for a while albeit only just ;)

I played a rubbish round in perfect weather at Camden Lakeside today for 30 points.

I drove the ball well, but everything else was just off. I cleverly finished with 5 straight bogeys, with each of them featuring a chip from less than 2 metres away from the green to a distance between 6ft and 10ft, and I missed each par putt. Very frustrating.

Sunday Nudgee plate
82/ net 69.
only 3/14 of fairways I was crap of the tee compared to my last 4 rounds where I have averaged 9-10.
only 2 GIR down as well.
30 putts about on the mark
1 birdie down as well.

The ball in the piss on 15 didn't help.

Down to 12, 2.4 clear of shazza

1st reserve for matchplay from my 74 saturdays. If I get the call up it could be interesting number 1 was net 63 with a 33 hcp.

Had my first hit in LA yesterday, Westchester GC right next to the airport. Played with some fellow hackers from work and won the day with an 84, Par 65. Game was relatively good considering hire clubs and the working out yard distances to meters in my head. Actually liked my swing and most of all short game was great with a 56 wedge, flop shots and bunker shots all successful even had a birdie on a par 5 after being in the greenside bunker for 2.

Yards to Metres is quite simple mate. Eg 200 yards is approx 180m, just subtract the first 2 digits from the total. Ie 200 - 20 = 180.
