Well heading into the WAnker Ozgolf Champs Sunday and the people are asking Tiger who? Because all the talk is about the heavyweight championship that will take place between our two biggest WAnkers, JC - the self appointed people's champion & Hocko the hack, also known as "Shanky gives himself a great Spanky".
4 hours till teeoff and we have high winds for the links today and with our leader needing emergency sticky tape applications to his back from our resident Dr Nick (TommyG) Hacko is a likely chance of snapping in two on the 12th tee. Some great stories of capitulation are sure to unfold from today's final round.
We will keep you informed throughout the day. ;)

+1.
Thanks again for the weekend boys and girl. Was very much enjoyable.
Great to have a game with OMS and the dirty Sanchez he's got going on for a mo. Congrats again to the one true bandit - TommyG. Was well played - even more so in his state (sober, this bloke would have gone even lower!).
Thanks also to the guys and girl I played with, made for a very enjoyable time. Special mention to OMS, tourfit and Vic who - despite their best efforts, saw fit to pay me an appearance fee for my round yesterday ;) little disappointed I didn't get to play JC to win my money back from last time, especially as he was in such a giving mood over the weekend :D thanks to Petethepilot and his mate for the free golf lesson on 16,17 and 18 today as well.....
Finally, Shadesy said it fairly well earlier today, but huge thanks to "Hock-said". The whole weekend ran like a treat (minus the ridiculously long round today - again tommy, your getting the blame), and was a huge amount of fun, but I think I can say on behalf of everyone, it was very much appreciated.

A huge thanks to Hocko for organising and mostly paying for the weekend, that was a huge effort.
Three new courses now played, one tamed but not the other two. The Cut sure is a brutal course. Shame I couldnt keep yesterdays good score going, but that is golf for you.
Thanks to the guys I played with each day and to Tourfit for driving me to Dunsborough on saturday.
There were so many laughs over the weekend, so many memorable moments and words said, the snoring competitions each night, so funny.
Oh and I finally got to meet Golfnut.

Great bunch of guys & girl to hang with for the weekend....Hocko did a marvellous job putting it all together, your generosity is very much appreciated mate.......anytime you feel like taking the top off some blondes, you know where I am ;)
Thanks to the lads who I had the pleasure of golfing with especially OMS, it was an arm wrestle 'til the end mate and was thoroughly enjoyed (thanks for the ride to Dunsborough too :smt023 )
Daz took home more money than he came with and took out so many NTP's I lost count......rock solid mate despite the dodgy driver today.
We all know what the "g" in tommyg stands for......GUN. He was slow at times but excellent......awesome ball striking to watch. I still have NFI how he managed to play like he did with that much blood in his alcohol stream.
So good that we can do this sort of stuff......well done to the winners......thanks again all.

Thanks everybody for the weekend.
Couldn't agree more with what's been said by others about Hockmeister. Well played young man. And many thanks. It was also a truly good thing with the trophy, and a class act. (would've liked to have heard you say "Hug it out, bitch" to simmsy before the moving man hug though :))
Just to fill Yoss in (no homo), the memories of my back 9 meltdown came back to haunt me...with 6 wipes on the back 9 including 11 & 12 (AGAIN) 14, 15, 16, 17. A solid Par 5 on the last after the two best shots ALL DAY gave me a grand total of 8 pts for the back.
Highlight of the day at The Cut was Rubin, driverless for the day and playing well to that point with the new, conservative gameplan. On 7, with 2 shots on the Par 4 of well over 400+m, hitting 3W way right at the $1 million house and JUST missing it by clearing the roof. Ball OB in the next blank housing block. Reload with the 3W again...frickin' nailed it. The same house that is. Through their nice horizontal window on the 2nd storey. We could see through he balcony doors, the side window and clear as day with the sun shining through it...the hole and matching smash marks!

Most annoying thing of the day...oh, never mind, haven't got that much time. I'm off to bed.
Actually, it was Nuffie. On the greens. I don't think that he could've stepped on my line any more if he tried. He was off in his own little smurf Nuff world (where everyone plays with small, stuffed toys...apparently). In fact, on the 6th green, he was away, and putted up and past the hole to a couple of feet. Rubin still has a putt for birdie and Cosmo also has a putt for some points. Nuff stops, removes the flag and stands there behind the hole sayin' (to himself) "What's the index? I wonder if I get a shot here?" He then proceeds to get his scorecard out to check and then starts counting shots...WTF? A little verbal nudge from Jools kinda gave him the hurry up and he holed the 2 footer for a wipe!

Shadesy - Your ass is from now on always available for your son & wife to see on the internet
Daz - you are the cheekiest snake in the grass poker player ever allowed at a champs weekend, great ball striking for the most part today mate.
Rubin - have you got a good insurance policy to offer the poor bastards on the 8th?
Hocko - choke of legend!
JC - almost choke of legend.
Golfnut - thanks very much for today mate, but no i don't ****ing know what club or what type of shot you should hit on the 10th ;)
TommyG - big thumbs up mate, for what you put into your body this weekend you operated so well, you are a very funny man at 2 in the morning or 2 in the arvo.

Even more now. Especially off Black Tees. ACR 75 my ass.
(Although having said that...PtP mate Bill joined us on 16 when things were slow. He hit a cruisey wedge to 7ft on 16. Then a 5 iron to the top of the ridge and a SW to about 10ft on 17. His drive on 18 was bombed 10ft right of the pole (ended up in left rough) and due to the slowness of the round (Canuck was in front of us!) decided not to bother going for the green in 2, which was easily reachable for him after the drive. 4 iron stright to the bottom of the hill and LW into about 6-8 foot COMPLETELY blind. A super easy PAR, PAR, PAR finish and every shot was just crunched...and I mean Pured. Awesome to watch.

I Would like to thank my playing partners...Especially IDGG who had to put up with me in the cart all yesterday. I had a ball riding with the guy and watching him go about his golf.
I am thinking through the weekend and a lot of frivolity talk but there was on occasions some very good golf played.. here are my shots for the weekend from each of my playing partners...
Hocko:
Best Shot: Safe to say at this point of his round Sunday, he was a shadow of the golfer that shot 36 points on Saturday. But his best shot of the Weekend came on 11. After shooting 8 pts off the front, and a wipe on 10, a pop sky hybrid from the tee which just cleared the red tees and Scrub left him about 220, uphill (15m Elevation) into a 3 club wind. Nails a 3 wood to the front Green and drains the putt for a Great Birdie....Followed by a helicopter of the 3 wood on the next tee.
Worst Shot: Lets set the scene. 2 Birds, some great up and downs and 36 points greeted Hocko as he walked onto the INDEX 1 18th. Straight into the wind at 415 m with the second a partial water carry meant the hole was always going to play as 3 shots. Drive was a little short, so a layup to before water was a safe play. 50 left, the gallery watching, a Soft 56 wedge close meant a putt for 3 point with 2 points and 38pts a certainity... My heart sank a little when a Shank wege right into the drink was the result, and ultimately a wiped hole...IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. I laughed about it all night at the "Sands" but honestly felt for the guy at the time.
COSMOPOLITE
I only Played with Cosmo on Saturday (not like Fit) and her round was very solid, with not many bad shots.
Best Shot: Probably the Long Par 3 7th or 8th. Playing 165 for the Ladies (i guess) into the wind. Missed the Nearest to pin by half an inch to the Canadian one for a very good 3 for 3. The Drive on 18 was also very good, kept low out of the wind and was a good 40 metres in front of the guys.
Worst Shot: I can't remember too many, the Tee shot on 3 was pretty bad, but 35 points says there were not too many bad one on Saturday...Sunday may be a different story.
Tommy G:
The winner turned after 9 on Saturday, with thoughts of how he would look in the Pink Belt...
Best Shot/s: I like Tommy's game, see ball hit ball kinda guy and hits most things pure. His final stretch on Saturday might of won him the Champs with 3 pars and a Bogey for 11 points in the final 4 holes all but securing Victory. His Best shots were played off the course, but the NTP on 17th on Sunday, was a shot of a low marker not a 14 (dodgy) marker.
Worst Shot: Didn't hit too many bad ones later on, but on the 12th (par5) Saturday, after hitting his drive into the Bunker, Chipping out and then Hitting the ball way left on approach, Hocko suggested he hit another one as that was pretty dead..Tommy who hasn't played a lot of club golf asked "what from here?...can't I just drop from up there." NO Tommy you can't.
IDGG: Loved playing with ID and loved talking tactics and thinking golf with him...great thinker of the game.
Best Shot: Pure Drive on 6 (which hit the cart), to leave him about 110 in. Stiffs his approach to 4 feet and makes a well deserved Birdie...
Worst Shot: Came straight after his best shot, when he tugs his drive 100L. Goes to hit another one and hits it in the same spot. We go and look for both balls and they are 10 cm from each other.. also Scrubbed his second on 10 into the bush. After not seeing it, going back to rehit his now 4th again. As he is driving up the ball, he takes another look for his first ball and finds it sitting pretty well with a shot at the green...DOH!
Johnny Canuck:
Best Shot: Several great shots on the back 7 on Sunday. Had numerous Birdie Putts and played very nicely. The Drive and Wedge on 14 (index 1) for birdie was just excellent Risk and reward golf with perfect execution. The drive and 6 iron to 10 metres on 12 (missed birdie putt for Solid par) was great golf on 2 very very hard holes. Best shot though was saturday night, The famous 8th @ Dunsborough CC. All in NTP, the place of the famous HIO for the Nuck. Last to hit, Nuffie already pretty close, Gallery around, etiquette gone out the window, Pure his (6?) iron starting a little right, then honing in all over the flag. Before its landed, JC has turned to the (peanut) Gallery, just knowing its all over the flag..... Great moment. The ball pitched 2 inches from the cup, before kicking on the sand green to give Nuffster the NTP, but it was so close to going in.
Worst Shot: Hits his Hybrid approach to 9th Long... so long that its sitting under some wooden logs as the boundary fence. The shot to get it back up the hill (Which was full of Fluffy rough) was to swing inside out, avoiding the logs and hopefully getting it somewhere near the putting surface. After an agonising 5 minutes working the best shot, The Nuck is ready for the Miracle shot....The first part was successful missing the logs on the back swing...But getting all of them on the down swing, stopping the club and proceeding to hit the ground 2 inches left of the ball, for a very amusing air swing. He then channelled his cousins from the Great white north and tried to hit the ball slapshot style, making contact and getting it half way up the hill.
Shadesy:
Worst shot: I have started with this as my best shot came after my worst shots. 4 times over the weekend I scraped 2 points after taking a penalty from the tee.... so there were plenty of really bad shots. One included trying to save a topped 3w into the creek in front of me, and trying to play out of the creek...very unsuccessfully, but we have a photo of that. Worst Shot - 9th on Sunday. 15 points in the bank, knowing not a lot of good scores being posted...cold topped (lucky to make contact) a driver 20 metres into the left kack. Walk down embarrassed to find its actually OOB and I have to make the SHORT walk back to the tee....
Best Shot - After finding the fairway with my 3rd on the 9th, I had 185-190 left into a stiff breeze up hill. Pured a 3hy that never left the line of the flag, flew straight over the top of the flag and stops dead 10 ft from the cup. After making a downhill left to right putt, to excape with a 5 and 2 points and a skin I had no right in claiming!
I know this doesn't mean much to others reading this, but I thought I would show my appreciation to my playing partners for the weekend and know that I would golf with any one of them at any time.

Righto, this is where I have my say.
First and foremost,
Thank you to all for making this such a memorable weekend and also behaving well enough that we did not receive any complaints from other users of the accommodation nor golf courses.
I have read everyone’s posts and assume that I don’t need to say “ I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend”.
These are my highlights of the weekend, most of these do not involve golf.
Tommyg
Tommy was my passenger for most of the weekend and I really enjoyed the fact that we managed to squeeze 6 beers each on the trip to Binny and a few more than 6 on the way back from Dunsborough. Tommy doesn’t get out much and it showed as he drank enough alcohol these last 3 days to last him all year. I did find a bit out about Tommy and I now know where he gets his sporting abilities from. Well done on the win mate and look forward to seeing you at the next one.
Dazgolfa
Daz is the quiet achiever, unsuspectingly removing everyones poker chips from in front of them and miraculously appearing in front of him without even having a decent hand? Also the trip back from Binny where he followed us through the bottlo without purchasing anything, then to the servo without purchasing anything and then saying “where are we going, I thought we were going back to the park?” Solid golf earned him the 2nd prize winnings.
IDgolfguy
Vic, the bloke who put his pants on and off more times than anyone this weekend (only a few will get this) not a lot to say because he is pretty quiet but it was a pleasure to watch him push the golf ball around on Sunday. A well earned 3rd.
Canuck (Fletch)
My highlight of the peoples champion is him not winning any skins a Binny on Friday night, the introduction of “shirtless sleeves” and the way he is so quiet upon returning from drunken mini golf in his attempt not to wake the host????? Not quite. Solid golf played all weekend to earn him the best gross.
Shadesy
Another bloke who doesn’t get out much! Shadesy attempted “booze catch up” on Saturday night as he couldn’t make it for Friday, unfortunately the only thing Shadesy wanted to do was show his bare ass to everyone. I actually think Shadesy is a very close second to Nuffie in the post game commentary, and the loudest whisperer I have ever heard (JC will concur). Played some good golf this weekend but shooting too many nett birdies after losing his first ball took it’s toll.
Cosmo
Cosmo cleaned up the poker table on Friday night before Daz tore everyone a new one, she is also the only person older than 15 that I know that drinks Southern Comfort because “it’s cheap”. Cosmo played some good golf and almost took it out this weekend.
Nuffie
?????????? WTF goes on in his head? I have know idea. nuff rolled up with a boot full of sporting equipment, rather large hats, party poppers, interesting looking sunglasses for night time use, a host of torches, incense sticks and………..stuffed animals? No one has figured this one out at this stage. As usual Nuff took everything seriously particularly Saturday night skins when most of us were hitting others clubs, drinking and just having a good time Nuff was practice swinging, attempting to read sand greens and being 15 mts behind everone else because of concentration….Strange man, but it wouldn’t be the same without him.
That’s all I will ATM because I have work to do……More to follow.

^^Great work shady-one. Thanks for making the trip mate. Your enthusiasm for the game but more impotantly for the shenanigans that goes with a guys weekend like this was brilliant. You and TommyG were my highlights for the weekend, makes me want to do it all again. This weekend.......

nice job Hocks. Enjoy working today. Just got out of the spa, having a coffee then heading out to watch a movie later hopefully. ;)

Ok, I think too much!
Shadesy, besides JC and Hocko, are the only amatuers I know who a capable of hitting pure ball flight - hitting a ball the way it should be over 70% of the time. Nuffie would be up there but he doesn't get the ball out at the same level as these guys. Playing a round with these three guys, I had to work my driver hard to put it in the right places.
I wouldn't say Shadesy choked but I can relate to how a 12 handicapper can implode!
He should have won!

Saturday Night at Dunny CC was the bomb...That was the best part of the weekend for me. Not only playing the golf but those who werent playing kept up a great spirit by walking the course and shooting the breeze...great Layout and a heap of fun to play... Although i'm not sure which group Rubin was in? Was it the Playing or non playing group?
Loved it!

After having a solid however interrupted 8hrs sleep (after having to get up and take the fiancee to work at 4.30am AGAIN, this time with the eyes really hanging out of my head), I figured it was time to get on here and post my final weekend wrap up...
Hocko, what you have achieved is something nothing short of a miracle... to try get these (us) bunch of WAnkers organised for 2 (some 3) days off consecutive golf. Absolute fantastic work. Everyone knows too well by now that I can't even get myself organised and would be late to my own funeral.
I don't know how you managed to keep your mind on the job and shoot what could have been a few over par on the Saturday. With all these hecklers around, don't know where this "a$$ of a 10 yr old boy" comment came from coz u were as solid as a craneworks crane holding up in cyclonic winds. Your stature and mental ability held firmly under the load of organisational chaos, well until the last approach shot of the Saturday anyway. No disgrace to struggle around back 9 of The Cut. I had 10 points that 9 after shooting a 40 pt score two days earlier.
Your fine tribute to Gavin Simms, what a great appreciation: AND the birdie $$$ to charity (I think that was JC's idea) but all in all, what a good champs this was... it had EVERYTHING:
Great cabins that made me feel like I was living back in my two-storey cubby house at Nonna's place in Bossley Park, Only better. I hope we stay there again! Showers were undelievable, or else there would have been a BAD hangover.
JC almost killing IDGG on the Saturday - with a vicious duck-hook iron. It was hit from the driving range at Dunsborough Lakes Resort across the water and landed just near ID on the full besides the putting green! Next thing you'll know he'll reckoned he played for that hook... The t-shirt. Hahaha... you can be forgiven for that as you were only displaying what most others were thinking. And your ultra-compeditiveness never ceases to amazes me. Playing one shot better than me for gross on the Sat, WTF??
I was hitting it good all day, particularly early on and you were a bit rusty, but still you grinded as you always do to the end. Our great rivalry will go on forever as you take the bacon again this time... grrr BUT Nuffie-Hornswaggle is still breathing and gonna beat you soon Canuck and pop out from nowhere.
Daz_Golfer, thanks for driving me home from the drunken skins match, I'd indeed had a few to many. That Kebab we had before and Chicken Treat we had after the game really hit the spot. You had doubts about your swing early on during our round on the Sat, but sounds like you stuck at it and came good on the Sunday. I forgot to ask you what you thought of the 17th hole. Hopefully my adviced helped you out. It helped me hit a PRO V1x straight into a bush right with a 3i! But seriously, really enjoyed your company and chatting about life.
Slim Shadesy's a$$ making an appearence on more than one occasion... well you can get away with just about anything in Bunbury/Dunsborough right??? All you had to do was observe the sights, delights (and lowlights) of hanging out near the kebab/bottle shop so you fitted right in! But the evening 'moon' was right on que when that camera lense came out to get JC's shirt photographed, I'll give you the tip. I'll have to get you onto The Vines when I join and out to our place for a BBQ once the backyard is sorted out.
Golfnut's comment about what TourFit is hitting... priceless. Was great having you there 'nut. I know how hard it is to get a leave pass these days. But your always enjoyable to hang out with. Your another little fella that tries to give it everything he has and I truly admire you for that. Hope you liked my little gift.
JC stepping on the glass at putt putt was indeed the ONLY foot he put wrong that saturday night. To think I'd illuminated the course enough with all those glow sticks and mood lighting??? Obviously not enough for us muppet-staggering WAnkers. BUT that display of putt putt was nothing anyone sober was even going to challenge... I still can't believe the shots he pulled off... unreal.
Shadesy, nice effort in attempting to go toe to toe with the new great one - Tommy Gun. But I guess that's why after Friday at the Sanctuary that I've been referring to him as the 'Tommy Gun'. This man has no private membership, yet is so strong in all aspects, with potential to improve his golf but ticks all the boxes in alcohol consumption. I think he got a bit out of playing in my group on the Friday. He hits these low penetrating shots with his strong hands and trying to go with me (in form) on a few holes I think gave the guy a bit of a thrill. I don't think you will be off 14 any longer now. Keep at it... golf is such a wonderful sport to be playing regularly.
Cosmopolite, what a super round you played on the Saturday after the average day scoring on the Friday. Great effort off a 19 handicap and in those windy conditions at Dunsborough. Yesterday was a lot tougher than Dunsborough, playing The Cut for your first time and also off the whites (ALCR of 78! Wholly $#!T), you put up a stubborn fight and never gave in, even in the face of those bunkers that were big enough to swallow a house. Taking it to those bigtime 'high rollers' on the poker table friday night was also a testimate to your purseverent qualities.
TourFit, I hear what you are saying about The Cut. A brut of a track is is and why it lies at 1st on my TRICKIEST course list behind Chequers. It was too bad you couldn't carry on your Sun form from Sat, but we were both in the same boat so don't feel to bad about it.
AND Pete the pilots crew, well I thought he could play when I met him. Some of these guys in his group the way they were blasting away, made it look like a casual hit around Maylands on a saturday afternoon! Would have been a treat just to follow your group around and watch.
IDGG, thanks for riding shotgun with me down and back in the gased up commodore. 8.7L per 100km, sure saved us a lot of $$$. Honestly, after seeing you hit the ball down the 16th at Sanctuary on Friday, I thought you'd struggle to come back to form for the Sat/Sun. But you played solid on Sat and really held your nerve yesterday. Off 12 you are a 'tradesman' like player than has the ability to manufacture shots. Not everyone has this. It's why you do well at Chequers and why you gave all these guys a good run for it yesterday. Like me, your driving is possibly your most consistent aspect.
May I also mention that IDGG has now been runner up 3 times in champs??? Dare I say it but in his mid-40's, could his best years still be ahead of him??? I think so.. he's putting as good as I've ever seen.
And finally me, NUFFIETHEGOLFMAN. Friday I had it on a string from the first tee, 2 birds in 3 holes and 4 for the round, putting as good as I have in two years. BUT as many suspected, unfortunately I was not in contention at the end of the last day. I peaked too early with a 74 gross around the Sanctuary. I calibrated my putting perfectly to those greens and was feeling very confident about my game in those conditions. The wind was not an issue as this was something I had prepared for.
Unfortunately as has been an issue for my game for a long time since the Cabra days, I struggle to adapt to green speeds and break when moving from course to course. This aspect sealed my unfortunate fate in the scoring for the weekend. I hit the ball well off the tee all day Saturday and for most of the Sunday. I only lost 4 balls for 74 holes. But unfortunately my all round short game from 20m in was not anywhere near the standard that a 6 marker should be. It was discraceful...
Lots of beers were consumed this weekend, at least 20 as a matter of fact, and half a bottle of Vodka (straight up). Was even driving home to discover half of a rear wisdom tooth missing... this was the most I had drank since my 21st birthday.
But the body felt fantastic, I didn't really feel hung over and dont know what happened with the game. JC's Nuck odds were very accurate indeed... Not enough of competition golf was the reason why the short game simply didn't show under pressure. Practice alone before the trip was simply NOT enough and have seen this happen before. It's now time to join the new club, once a few new home items on the agenda are sorted out. But as I'm starting to understand, there will always be something to sort out now that I'm getting older and such is life. The new club needs to be joined ASAP for the golf to get better and time for procrastianting is over. Once I have a week or two off, that is it.
Thanks to everyone for making it a wonderful weekend. The times I had were amazing, the first time I'd caught up with most people in at least 6 months with the building house/changing jobs going on.

Yep. Have never had any dental work done before in my life but I fear that despite brushing the teeth each day, the additional booze has softened it up .
BTW should I mention that I took a SNAKE SCARER down there, had a take 5 book to deploy it safely on the 9th Hole at Dunsborough CC to show everyone where the hole was in the DARK??? And even had rubber hearing protection in my golfbag to combat the 100 db noise level. All Rubin and Simmsy had to do was ask me for some protector all safe plugs and I would have gladly provided some.
Maybe it was just a 'creative' favor that backfired dismally.
Could it be time to cut my losses now before my house gets raided by two characters wearing ballaclavas, or should I say nine characters?

Allright.... its time for a word from the reigning champ:
Ive finally got a few minutes peace to sit at the computer read the threads. I thought i was hung over yesterday, but drinking everything that was left in my esky on the way back in dazzas car (thanks for all your donations of beer those who left them in there.... twas a good selection), then a few nightcaps when i got home has left me in a real state today. And up at 5 with the kids was a real killer.
What can i say? What a cracker of weekend. A huge thanks and big up for mr hockleberry. Mate, you are a superstar. Allbeit a choking one.
I am really stoked to have won the drunk-off on both nights, as well as dragging my sorry carcass around, what, 96 holes of golf? F*#k me, no wonder im knackered. And i'd like to apologise for 2 things...
Firstly, for personally insulting every single one of you at least once on my drunken binges... i hope no-one took things too badly and saw the funny side of my constant abuse. Except for that american guy, the one that they used to call peoples champ before that banner got passed onto me, I meant every insult i hurled at that guy.
And secondly, for somehow winning the cup. Golf was really just a secondary thing for me this weekend and to somehow scramble enough points after thinking i was in the running for Naga through 7 holes at the cut has blown me away. If i was playing off 22 like i should have been as the comp round virgin absolute beginner that i am i would have kicked everyones ass by a whole lot more. Whatever was in that pie i had at the turn must have done the trick.
Special thanks to Tourfit, Hocko and Dazza for driving my drunken ass around, and to Yoss for lending me his smoothy. The champions chariot went back in fits ute so grab it off him next time your there... or i can drop it to you if you like.
And Simmsy, mate it was a pleasure to play with you at the cut, and its an honour to be the holder of your brothers memorial cup.
Over all it was great to get to know you all over a ripping weekend... being crowned the champ was just the icing on the cake... but it left me with a big dilemma: do i tell the mrs about the cash prize or not? If not i can get stuck into the pro-shop thread with some good ole fashioned hoing.... or do i throw her the cash so im far more likely to be let out to play golf????
I really look forward to some social rounds with all of you guys some time soon.... or some nice frothies instead.

You are starting to become an OZgolfer, less talk about golf and more talk about nothing in particular and bitching about others….love your work. However you did quieten down substantially after JC unveiled the T shirt. Brave effort risking damage to your driver by attempting to hit a Daly like driver off a Jim Beam can. Cheers for being head cleaner in your hut and taking all the shit in your stride. Still the only person I know who can embed a golf ball into safety glass, and you broke 100 at least once during the weekend.

Not much to say John as we hardly saw you because you were enjoying Thai food and sleeping, didn’t quite have your game on either which kept you pretty quiet on the course. Thanks for organising everyone to throw in a couple of bucks to keep the host fed and watered. Also thanks for the shank prediction! You could’ve told me before I hit it.

The new ghey member of the WAnkers, taking a rangefinder and zeroing it onto a man’s ass isn’t kosher! I am truly glad you managed to get the leave pass to join us and I look forward to having a few quiet ones after work. What can I say? After waking up at 4am on Friday as excited as a fat kid in a pie shop, and coming down as fast as a seasoned crack user. You always manage to be the level headed one and if something needs to be said then you are the one to say it. Figured I should give this a proper go as some of the other guys have:
A few things that stood out over the weekend for me. First one was Hocko's approach shot on 18 on Friday. Simmsy and myself are standing about 150 out watching, hocko hits it 100% pure and it hits about 5ft short of the pin and disappears. We're going nuts thinking its gone in, and then it re-appears and has finished inside a foot. Shot of the weekend for mine. Thanks again for an awesome weekend too, and the Gavin Simms memorial trophy was a pure act of class (well done to JC as well, I believe you had a hand in that).
Simmsy's temperament on the golf course is outstanding. By his own admission he was playing some average golf, but no one would have known because the bloke was absolutely loving life being out there. He can't whine anymore about not putting the ball out there either, he put a few past both me and hocko on Friday and saturday.
IDG. Worst bloke in the world to play skins with. He won't necessarily beat you, but he'll make damn sure you don't win either, just managing to find a way to get it in there to halve the whole all the time. Every game is a laugh with ID, and the guy always has a huge grin on his face. Great effor to wi the Sunday as well.
Tourfit - this may come as a surprise, but i didn't hear much from fit. Firstly because - as hocko has already said - there was a lot of tea and Thai food over the tourfit weekend, and I think a bit disappoint I himself for his golfing performance. Nevertheless, I witnessed some great shots in some truly awful conditions on Sunday from the round guy.
Nuffie - had a fun round with nuff on Sunday, our golf was rubbish, but we made the most of it I think. Not sure about your fluffy toys.......
Or the snake alarm (snakes can't hear).......
Or the assortment of sporting goods........
Or the hat, the helmet torch, or the incense.....
But the little bloke was always keen for a laugh and a hit, and I always enjoy a round with the human Jack Russell.
Cosmo - played some great golf on Sunday, and was hitting some spectacular drives off the tee. The score was not a reflection of your game, and i thought you may have had a few more points than you did. A huge effort as well to put up with all us blokes for all 3 days as well which as a task in itself.
Some other notable points - I have discovered a new ability. I can now implant golf balls into house glass. I am available for hire and it makes a great feature in any window. PM for details.
Tommy is an animal. I don't think much more needs to be said on this, other than you should be commended for making it through the weekend alive, let alone winning it.
Hocko's great control. He managed to stay planted in the winds, and I didn't see a helicopter all weekend. A few great "Hock-said" moments as well, that never fail to work out perfectly too.
Daz for taking near on every single NTP for the weekend, and also our money for the poker. Seriously Daz, learn to share mate ;)
Shadesy for nearly making us drive clean off the road at 110km/h. Cruising along back to the accom. I point out JCs car, and within 5 seconds, this guy has his ass hanging out the window giving it to ID and JC, followed quickly by the same effort to Mrs Simms and Golfnut.
All in all, was a great weekend, and I personally very much enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next one, and hopefully I can make a run for the W!

Just so you know, I was never going to make it to the Friday 9 holer (Capel OR Binningup) no matter how much I wanted to. I had already pre-arranged seeing my God-daughter and best mate on Friday arvo. The Thai food came about solely due to the situation with the room keys/access and having to get them from Cosmo in Bunbury. (I did actually ring Simmsy - the level headed one - to get an idea of return time and food possibilities...but with some serious Skins under way, alcohol consumption and the wind, it was a waste of a call :)). So rather than wait for you WAnkers, ("We Specialise In ClusterF**k"), I sorted myself out...but not in the same way as shower time for JC / Hocko though!!!
Thai food is good.
I also was no chance for the Sat game at DCC either...three rounds in 3 days was always going to be tough going, and I didn't want to completely undo the good work done on my foot. Lucky we had carts on Sunday or I would have bailed halfway round I reckon (the way I played on the back nine it would have made F-all difference to my score!). My overall fitness is also a bit suspect at the moment, as some of you may have noticed I am carrying a little extra these days...but, unlike the pre-Champs predictions, there were NO excuses or blaming injuries, and my foot held up OK for the most part.
Now...for some random thoughts on the weekend,
I am a little disturbed that Shadesy's arse is listed more than a few times IN THE HIGHLIGHTS SECTION!!! WTF? Schoolies at forty...I'd never had thunk it!
How can Daz go the whole weekend seemingly one step behind on EVERYTHING...and still end up ahead?
Do you guys not wonder why Cosmo kept coming in & out, while ID was in & out of his jocks. He WAS the only black guy and was lathering himself up with cream...it could've been worse. Rubin or the ghey belt wearer perhaps.
Shadesy getting lost going to The Cut, when you have to make ONE TURN for the whole trip!
JC's scary ability to always be running late, and turning up with literally a minute to spare. Always behind. (Maybe he's closet ghey?)
Simmsy's "crying like a sook" reaction to the Cup made the whole weekend for me, really. Showed us that some things are far more important than golf. He is a good bloke and definately no sook, and I don't think that anyone there wasn't moved. (We should have had a group hug, but specialist Yoss wasn't there to organise it...and it probably would've ended up as a ClusterF**k anyway)
Cosmo...thanks for everything (apparently) ;) Played twice, met up in Bunbury, the trip to Dunsborough, the shared chalet...people may get the wrong idea and start to assume things!
Nuffie's erm...accessories for the weekend. Here I was thinking Nuffie WAS an accessory!!! And I still don't want to touch your hair either.
Golfnut may have got the leave pass (well done, sir), but still didn't have the balls to bring the car! Brought a hired ute instead (Attaboy!)
Going to the park gate to let in JC/Simmsy after the text, and 15 minutes later they still weren't there. Which park was it again?
And lastly, the fact that TommyG came up with SO many insults/comments/quips, and won the drunk-off both nights, and is a Greek, that there were very few Greek/ghey jokes toward him. With our history of ghey labelling why did this not happen. Beyond me?
(But did any of you notice that our Greek Champ had a zip in the BACK of his shorts?). The wrong ass was lasered it seems!

Well it was a huge weekend with lots of tales to tell, golf and otherwise.
Nuffieisms, Tommy's epic drinking sessions, Daz's epic poker cleaning up sessions, JC running his own time on everything, Hocko-said episodes, Shadesy's mooning episodes, Golfnut actually getting a leave pass for the weekend, bucket loads of golf, losts of bevvies consumed, lots of takeaway food consumed, snoring competitions, blah blah blah.
No way you can condense all that into a small post Mega.

I beat everyone except Simmsy to Binny.
Got to The Lakes 30 min before my tee time.
Got to The Cut 20 before the first group teed off. It would have been 35, if not for Shadesy's dodgey directions.
I don't know what else the two Tourfits are referring to as that covers the extent of their participation, and is quite early for me. I don't warm up at the golf course, so I don't need to get there earlier.

I tell you what... i havent played with many if any real golfers before.. but a couple of drives hit by mr hockleburglar at the lakes were insane. I'd describe them as the perfect ballflight with a sexy little draw. He hit driver 6 iron into a long par 5. ( he might have then 3 putted from 15 feet for par). I gotta get me one of those nunchuks. Secondly, this message will not be as long as the Nuff's .... when I've got a spare few hours I'll read Nuff's detailed account of the weekend, hee, hee.
Big Congrats to TommyG the W...... Did ask me on Sunday during the drive back, if he'd insulted everyone during the trip and I said "Yes", he doesn't remember too much!!!, not surpised really.
Would like to thank all my playing partners, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, enjoyed it all, apologies for my driving (the ball not the car). It was a big grin, with plenty of laughs (especially my driving), thank god I didn't use my driver on the par three's. And yes I reckon there was a couple of jugs in my round on Sunday. Really would like to thank everyone, even Yoss who was there is spirit....or.. well Ozgolf web site anyway. Hey, I even arrived on time !!.
Most memorable comment - Golfnut - "Just lasered Ruben's bum with one 69 to it !!!". Golfnut then had a conversation with himself about that comment and how ............they do it ???????

Seriously though, I wasn't a full bottle on what had happened to your brother simmsy but I will say I was glad I was sitting at that table alone in the bar at The Cut during the presentation as I also had to wipe away some mist from my eye's.....being the youngest of 3 brothers, this really hit home to me and the small donation is the very very least I could do and was not done to change my status around here but more to help right a wrong in a small way. I don't know if it's having my own kids now that's changed me but even typing this, I'm in a bit of a blubbering mess just thinking about how you would have felt on Sunday approaching the 9th but, well done for staying strong.
Simmsy, you are the bravest guy I know especially for having the strength to head back to that course with so many memories on the 9th.....apologies for all the stupid, pathetic questions on 10 which in the scheme or things were so insignificant and silly.

I believe those last few moments of the Sunday presentation made us OZgolf WAnkers an even closer group than we were before.
It was a pleasure to be playing in an event of such significance. Well done to Hocko for naming the event what it was (and if I'm correct JC may have also had some input in the choice). At some stage, hopefully somebody could enlighten me of the real story behind what happened.
My younger brother I rarely see these days, despite the fact we spent each day together from when he was born until I was 24 and a half. Now I'm laughing if I see him once a year and wish there was a way that somehow, things could be different not just with him, but for my whole side of the family that are 4000km away EVERYDAY.
Hold your head high Brad, he would have been having a cold one during our presentation, looking down from the heavens with a smile upon his face for sure.
