Why

... do I now get asked for a url address when trying to post a pic?

Used to be able to browse and grab a pic from my collection.

Go to Advanced and choose the paperclip. That's how you used to do it.

I thought this must have been another "why does everyone hate Jamie Soward" type threads.

Pity.

Clicking on the image button gives you the option to either select an image from your computer, which will be uploaded as an attachment to your post, or to provide the URL link of an image. They are presented in the popup as two separate tabs, From Computer and From URL.

Is this what you can see? And does this resolve your issue?

OK this is weird.

This is what I'm getting by clicking on Insert Image, whether in quick reply or advanced.

I just tried it on Firefox and it's the pop up I'm used to.

Is there a setting on Google Chrome I need to tweak?

But it's not.

It is for me. If I want to post a pic that isn't a URL I'll just open up a Mozilla page. No biggie.

AndyP

That's a shitty workaround.

I've had a look into it, and it is a known problem for vBulletin with Google Chrome and sometimes Firefox, that has apparently been fixed for version 4.1.4. We are on 4.0.8.

Has posting youtube videos changed as well?

mike
29th May 2011, 10:18 AM
That changed a couple of years ago. It's easy now. Used to need a uni degree in IT to post a youtube clip.

Back to posting pics, how do I post a pic like this for example ...

11970

... so that it fills the page?

AndyP

Fixed it for you. ;)

Thanks. As far as favourite OZgolf moderators go, you're in my top 10.

So, how did you do it?

AndyP
29th May 2011, 12:56 PM
In this case, I assume that you add it as an attachment after uploading from your PC. When you have done that, it initially displays in a small size. If you hover the cursor over the pic, a pencil should show on the picture. Click on this for some sizing (S, M, L, Full) and layout (L, C, R) options.

Hmmmm. At what stage should there be a pencil?

AndyP

Straight after you have uploaded it and it shows.

Another Chrome issue? Or I'm just a numpty.

AndyP

I've edited your post. Firstly, you had it as an attached thumbnail. I had to go into Manage Attachments, check the image and Insert Inline. Then I was able to hover over it and see the pencil.

I use Firefox.

Instead of the pencil it just goes sort of greyscale.

Can't seem to edit the size.

Have you tried re-installing iTunes?

Have you updated the browser recently?

mike
30th October 2011, 01:47 PM
I've given up on itunes.

As for browsers, it happens on Firefox, Chrome and IE.

Is it me?

The pencil isn't there, but it provides a drag option to resize. However, I can't get that to work.

mike
30th October 2011, 02:04 PM
Yep I tried the drag option with no success.

No big deal. I just thought itunes might have been screwing things up.
