H/cap Change: Down from 8.4 to 8.3

It's great to finally have comps at WP on Wednesday and Thursday. Where was this 8 months ago??

I scrapped around today, making bogeys from good positions and pars from bad. I hit it consistently at the end of the round, but couldn't knock a birdie putt in.

Next round: Probably next Wed or Thurs at WP again. No weekend rounds for a couple of weeks now that the time consuming pennants has finished.

Solid round, AP.

Thanks. I just needed those irons hitting the greens a bit earlier. I'm definitely capable of a sub-70 there soon, and an even par round is a chance one of these days.

3 down yesterday and what would have been 25 points today.

Yesterday dropped me .1 to 6 flat. Not really hitting it that well at the moment. Putting pressure on the blade which is going through a change, so really not a good situation to be in.

I played this morning with the NQuankers at Cairns GC in a single stableford. A bit chilly until the sun got a bit higher in the sky.

I didn't hit it very well at all (as evidenced by the FIR & GIR numbers), but I was the scrambling king today! Putted the dots off it, too. I think I only missed one under about 12 feet. And hopefully I'll pick up an NTP on 17 (146cm).

Played OK today. Shot 3 over for 36 points....but had a very silly lowlight in the round...on my 15th hole of the day (6th hole) I was moving some sticks and I knocked my ball about 50cm away, ended up double-bogeying it for a wipe :(

Still got off to a slow start with a Bogey, Par, Birdie, Bogey start before settling down with a steady 1 under for the next 7 holes, and then 2 dumb bogeys, and then a dumb par, and then a really dumb penalty leading to a wipe, finishing Par, another dumb bogey, Birdie

I think I figured out why I was pulling my shots or ghey slicing, my shoulders were aiming way left, hips a little left....I adjusted them to be parallel with my feet and knees, feels awkward but hitting it much straighter.

Was going to play tomorrow but it is pi$$ing down here right now.

4bbb at midlands today bit of a soggy track and cored sand greens. We started on the 10th and I missed my drive to the right hit a tree and couldn't find it:( my partner chopped it around in the trees and we had a miss. We only had 19 points on the back nine then got things going and came home with 24 on the front with a 1 pointer on the last. We thought we had a good day with 43pts but were 7pts behind the winners.

My stats:

7/15 fir
3/18 gir
27 putts
6/13 u&ds
0/2 ss

5 pars
2 birdies
6 bogeys
5 others

Played Wantima Single Stableford today and was extremely inconsistent, played some awesome golf in areas and then would just have blowout holes.

Rundown

My stats:

10/14 fir
9/18 gir
30 putts

7 pars
0 birdies left a few out there
5 bogeys
6 others
4 Wipes
2 x 1 Point Holes
31 Points in total

My handicap has now gone out to 17 which is a little annoying, I am playing the best golf I have played since I started playing again, I am just losing focus and killing my score on a couple of holes, stupid brain snaps that I never have when playing a social game.

Ill put it all together one day and shoot a 76 or something rediculous.

Shot a measly 38 points in a family day today. Our own little comp between 8 of us. Played at kb for some fun.

The 38 was a struggle, which makes me think the corner isn't far off and I'll be dropping a few more shots.

Plus side for the day- shot an eagle off the stick. Par 5 8th played at 478 apparently, played driver 9 iron to pin high and tap in for eagle. Gotta be happy with that!

38 points and measly?

Ok, poor choice of words. It was a very very ugly 38. And the eagle definitely helped on that. The fact that i played shit and still hit the 38 is a good sign for me.

On the plus side... EAGLED 13th! (493m Par 5). Average drive, but managed to get a lucky bounce and roll, ended up being a 320m drive. Nice little 7 iron into a middle placed pin which also happened to roll out nicely, and a 4 ft put for eagle.

Spare nothing, did you detail the car before or after playing?

I don't detail my car. Who came up with that by the way?

Today's was a sweet drive, wind assisted 323m, lucky bounce up near the bunkers on the right. Got a bit of run, so must have caught the down slope. Line for the second into the green was the very left edge of the black boys as you go round to the 9th tee, over the bunker, pin is slightly back, slightly right. Finished up half a club length left of the hole. Put in for 3.

6 pars, a birdie, 2 lost balls and not much fun slopping around Amstel. It was in worse nick than Pelican for the champs and it hasn't rained that much lately I think.

Chips? I still don't get that one either.

The other one, that was more a fluke/luck than anything else. As I said in the other one, a bit of an average drive, but got a good bounce and also a bit of unusual run (any run is unusual for me). A little bit of wind behind us, so hit 7i over the bunker greenside on the left, and it released slightly forwards and to the right. The pin was well front and left. Got a lucky putt that dropped but it wasn't well struck, was just lucky the greens were a little quick, cause I'd been putting things well past the hole all day, and tried to baby that in the hole.

Reason why I did t really remember it is because that felt like luck, todays I felt like I actually played the shots to earn an eagle.

KB 13th - dvr, 3i that didn't get any air for it's entire run to 1 foot from the pin. thank you very much.

my other one was 9 at Hartfield - dvr, 3wood to about 6-8foot. none others so far and none in a comp.

3 people witnessed you pulling your poker chips back after losing a hand on the second night at champs. It involved a decent amount of chips.

I was one of these people.

I thought nothing of it at the time, thinking that I must had been mistaken. The next day, when I heard two others discussing it, I knew what I had witnessed. I can't see three of us making the same mistake.

Not really the vibe that we were looking for in a friendly game.

If that was the case, it was a mistake and not deliberate. But I don't know which hand ur referring to. And at the same time, I would have been more than happy for u to point it out at the time.

mate, i play poker once every 12 months - if that. Assuming I did do that, then JC (or someone else) could have pulled me up on it, and i would have left the chips out. If I made a mistake - so be it.

Not that this is the point, but i didnt win a cent - and I understood entirely it was all for fun.

Monthly Medal on Saturday. 89 for 83 nett.

Hit it very poorly on a few holes, including a clutch of triple and double bogeys. The lowlight, was a stabbed chip on the 9th that resulted in a double hit! Been ages since one of those!

I managed a couple of birdies though (3 & 13) and had decent birdie chances on 4,5,6,7,11,12. Driver was 'ok'. I missed a couple left. Not sure if it was the 'B2' setting or just over the top swings. I'll put it back to A1 anyway. Hcap back to 7, yay!

Chopped it again at Mt Lawley on Sat for 31 pts. Only highlight was I hit some excellent shorter irons, which I have been struggling with lately. The stuff that's been OK lately went to crap instead!!!

I also played with Petethepilot, who played OK, but not great. The Qantas RED MIST kept periodically descending...especially over short putts!

Just to be a tosser, my first eagle was on a par three.
I was 12 and playing off about the same, it was an uphill 150mt par 3 and i rolled a five wood onto the hole, took our group about 10 minutes to find my ball.

It took me 28.5 years to get an ace. Considering I was running around Fairfield Golf Course at 3 years of age, that was a fair wait. I missed by an inch at cabra on the 14th when I was 16.
