Unless my son is still home with tonsillitis. I've got no idea how long that lasts for.

Thanks for the hit today, gents. It was good to get some old school forum members together and slag off all the forum newbies (those that joined after 2004).

Not bad shooting either.

I think all of us had holes where we would have preferred to write down bogey. Par is 70 at the moment.

Not bad shooting either.

I don't think any of us realised how good we were going ... especially on the front nine.

We were too busy bagging Blakey and being real bitches :p

Just received this email from the club regarding the 2nd hole :

North Course

NORTH COURSE -2ND FAIRWAY OPENS FOR PLAY ON
SATURDAY 16TH APRIL

The 2nd fairway was taken out of play on 15th February with the expectation that it would be 6 to 8 weeks before it would be back in play.

For the Members interested in the process the staff initially installed irrigation points along the fairway and top dressed the area to be upgraded with 60 tonne of sand.

The area was then “lely rotara harrowed” in 4 directions and rolled with its own balloon tyres. The stolenised area was then continually watered until 300 mm of rain fell in the following weeks during which time the area was top dressed 4 times ( 2x 30 tonne and 2x 10 tonne).

The cost, to date is in the order of $5,800.

Despite efforts to top dress out any low spots we are aware that the ground structure at Nudgee (marine clay/mud) moves and is forever forming bumps and hollows.

If Members are satisfied with the result we will program to treat other fairways in a similar manner, leading into the next growing season.

If we are potentially coming out of the wet season we will go back to working on pathways and removing cottonwoods.
