Thought I would post to remind everyone that this is on if they have a last minute change of mind and also confirm tee times.

Tried to get early tees (3 and 4) as that way we might get a chance to play with a seeded Pro :)

What we can do is register, then jump in my van and drive over and park near the 3rd tee. Although the walk could have been a lot worse. I can't wait for this. I luuuuv pro-ams.

Back to the actual topic....   (You big bunch of threadjackers....  )

You guys will have to let me know who you end up playing with as a lot of hubby's classmates are now playing on the Sunshine Circuit, and we are always interested in how they are all going....

Particularly since we are now marooned down here in NSW... :?

My form is not too good heading into Saturday's round. Hope I don't embarrass myself.

Hitting many duff shots at the moment, but what do you expect when you play after having big nights out.

Don't know how my game will cope with the early wake-up and 90min drive. :?

Played in the 1st round of this event, man the greens are quick :smt119 got on the practice green and proceded to knock my first few putts off the green from 10ft :smt076 but eventually got the ball somewhere near the hole! Goughy and Andy, you 2 better watch for this tomorrow...luckily like this morning the greens will be wet for a while so a fair bit slower.

I played with a Pro called Kyle Woodbine, very nice swing and good golfer so I hear but he hacked it a little today for a 75. I had a 73 (39 points) with a ****en double on the last (2nd hole). I was very happy with the way I hit the ball but again couldn't sink enough putts :smt100

My stats were 13 greens, 8/14 fairways, but 33 freaking putts :smt076 Will do .2 or so though I suppose so I should be happy but when you miss 10 birdie putts and 2 eagle putts in 1 round and double the last you get a horrible taste in your mouth :smt078

Looking forward to tomorrow, Andy do you need directions??

AndyP
7th May 2004, 12:13 PM
I do need directions Jaster. I was actually just on the RACQ and WhereIs sites, but they were doing me bugger all good.

Need to organise a meeting spot and time too.

Shame about the fast greens. I just played Oxley on Monday, and I thought the greens were fast there. Me not like.

I'm thinking a 5am or earlier departure for me.

Nice 73 Jaster. You had a better score than the pro, and you're still complaining.

Is tomorrow here yet? :D

1. When you come up the range and get to the servo at the top keep going past the servo and along this road and follow it into James St which it automatically turns into, you do not have to make any turns to this point just follow the road along.

2. About 200m approx along there will be a set of lights with a school (st josephs) on your left. Go left here, it is Mackenzie Street.

3. Follow this road for about 1-2km, you will go through approx 5 roundabouts and you you need to turn left at the 6th one. This street you need to go into is Spring Street

4. Along Spring for 300m and the practice range is on the right.

Me and goughy are going to be there from around 5:45ish hitting balls and then will be heading to the putting green and to check in at about 6:30ish

You can all me on 0408360132 if you get stuck, put it in your phone now :)

I know I should be happy with a 73, but I am not as it should have been better. To finish with a double is just :x  :?

AndyP
7th May 2004, 01:13 PM
The finishing hole can greatly influence how you feel about a round.

I won't get lost. Former pizza delivery drivers never get lost.

I don't really know what time I will end up getting there. I'll have to do a brekky stop at McDs on the way. :smt078

He's sending you on a bum steer here andy. The name of the street you need to turn left at is Stenner Street. Just before the 5th round-a-bout on your left you will pass the "Water Bird Habitat" immediately followed by a new housing estate. As you reach the 6th round-a-bout (Stenner Street, turn left) there is a school on your right hand side (Gabinbar Primary School). You will see the famous 16th hole (par 3) on your right hand side then it's the practice range. A big ugly green van with "Chic Upholstery" will be parked there. If non of this appears you better call us.

The drive is about one and a quarter to one and a half hours from oxley.

I can't wait till the morning.

The trainee pro at our course shot 71. And another pro from our course, Justin Smith shot 75.

Jaster, you did very well mate. And now that he knows the greens it's blazing time.
