Well after playing some good golf during Pennants last Sunday, it was nice to continue it on for my first under-handicap round at Windaroo!

Front 9 started very shaky, but came home with a +6 off the stick for the back 9 with some better shots being played.

Missed more putts than I usually would which was a bit disappointing.

As a positive, nothing worse than a double on the card, which was an improvement.

Front: 49
Back: 42

Gross: 91
Nett: 67!

Let's see if I can continue on Sat!

Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20110323-p49.html)(B9 1st): 45-47-92 stab 26pts (Par 36-36-72 ACR 71)

H/cap Change: 8.7 to 8.8.

I went out for a few holes during the week to work on my driving, which has been letting me down. By the end of the session, I had it dialed in nicely. It looks like I wasted my time, because I hit it shit off the tee for most of the day, and the rest of the game got dragged down with it.

Next comp round: Now that my game is in the poo, the Pennant trials are almost guaranteed to go ahead this week.

Aren't drivers fun!

It's more frustrating when you've always been able to rely on short, straight driving.

Just played the Tasmania Golf Club. What a great course. Reminded me a lot of Royal Canberra. Superb nick .. quick true greens.
Shot 79 (+7) , with a triple bogey on the 9th, so played to my handicap of 7. Started birdie birdie ... (Ferrins .. sit down ... ) hit 9 greens. Hope that wasnt too much of a shock for you mate.
Parred the last 5 after a 3 putt bogey on 13. Stoked .... ready for Barny !!

Stableford at Cairns GC this morning with Haysey & Solarman.

38 pts with 4 x 1 pointers & 3 x 3 putts. Hit it sideways off the tee, but still made a crapload of GIRs.

2nd Rnd of Clubies today.

Had a shocker 77 nett 78. Course played tough, lots of wind, some rain and the greens were much firmer and quicker than they have been for months.
Shot Even the back 9 which was OK.

Finished No.1 qualifier by 7 shots.

*Edit* 2nd qualifier ended up 3 behind after just seeing the results. 3rd is 7 behind.

Monthly Medal at KB off the black tee's.

Played with 2 blokes i've never played with before. One guy is an absolute knobhead and he's off 9, the other guy is an awesome bloke who's of -2. (Yes minus 2, for the entire round, 1 ball was off the fairway, and that was only by 10cm).

Ended up being an NCR because the knob was pissing me off that much, i couldnt concentrate so asked for the card.

I assume you mean +2, as technically your knobhead mate was off -9.

Scoring PPPbPBPPP BBOPBPPBP

Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20110327-p50.html): 1up; 31-46-77 with a 12 on the 5th [stab 23-15-38] (Par 31-35-66 ACR 63?)

H/cap Change: N/A

The driving seemed better, but it's not needed very often at WP. The putting was confident and everything else was solid.

Next comp rounds: Carbrook Wednesday, Wally Park Saturday, Pennants Sunday.

I played a very blah round at Camden Lakeside yesterday for 33 points.

Didn't do anything particularly well, or anything badly until a late meltdown on 17 when I suddenly lost all ability to hit the ball. Then on 18 I hit my two best shots of the day and lipped out for birdie.

Amazingly, the A Grade winner had 36 points. Worst winning score I've seen at the course. I definitely left four shots out there, but maybe all the other players can say the same thing.

75 yesterday for the 2nd round of club champs. 5 over for 36 holes, qualified 3rd, 10 shots back from 2nd and 13 back from 1st. Unbelieveable.

75-3-72. No handicap change, still 2.6.
3 birdies
9 pars
6 bogeys

8/14 fairways
9/18 GIR
29 Putts
5/10 Up 'n' Downs

Didnt chip well, hit some beautiful putts that just wouldnt go in (typical portland greens).

Off to district championships next sunday before quarters and semis of club champs in a fortnight. Some big games ahead.
